Creamy ham and tater soup 🐷🍲

What you need 📝
🔸3/4 lb. ham cubed (I used thick cut Boar’s Head deluxe ham from the deli)
🔸3 large Russet potatoes cubed
🔸mirepoix (celery, carrots, and onion diced)
🔸1/4 cup butter
🔸1/4 cup flour
🔸5 garlic cloves minced
🔸3 cups chicken broth, 2 cups milk, 3/4 cup heavy cream
🔸2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (mild and sharp)
🔸1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
🔸salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning, garlic & onion powder
🔹garnish- reserved ham, green onion, crushed red pepper/splash of hot sauce

How to make it 👩‍🍳
In a large pot/dutch oven, heat some oil and brown your ham for a few minutes. Remove the ham and add butter and mirepoix to the pot. I add some salt and pepper here. Let that cook and soften about 5 min. Next add the garlic and potatoes. Cook 2 min, add the flour, and mix well. Add chicken broth and milk. Include a layer of all the seasonings. On medium low heat (should be lightly bubbling) cook for 20 min or until potatoes are tender. I add another layer of seasonings as the potatoes cook. Add the heavy cream. Stir for 1 minute. Return the ham to the pot to warm through for another minute. Turn off the heat and add your cheeses slowly letting them melt. Serve with your favorite garnishes and toasted buttered bread.

I’m back in the kitchen trying to perfect my signature chili recipe. Two new staple ingredients I included were linguiça (a type of Portuguese sausage) and piquillo peppers. Both added such delicious layers of flavor 😍😍 #cooking #foodie #chili by @babysipbrit

Green chicken chili might be my new Halloween tradition!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃
#foodporn #nom #halloween #spookyseason

What you need 📝
🔹2 lbs boneless skinless chicken cut into bite sized pieces (mix of breast and thigh)
🔹1 yellow onion chopped
🔹5 garlic cloves minced
🔹2 cans great northern beans
🔹2 cups chicken broth/stock
🔹1/4 cup cilantro chopped
🔹1 lime juiced
🔹poultry seasoning, chili powder (green/red), dried oregano, cumin, salt & pepper

For the verde sauce
🫑 2 large green tomatoes/tomatillos
🫑 2 jalapeños
🫑 12 oz roasted hatch chiles (3 small cans; I use a mix of mild and hot)

How to make it 👩‍🍳
Blend the verde sauce ingredients together into smooth then set aside. Heat oil in a large pot and sear your seasoned chicken in batches. The chicken just needs to be browned, not cooked 100%. Remove all chicken from the pot and set aside. Now add the onion. Sauté for 5 min until softened. Next add the garlic and sauté an additional minute. Now add the seasonings and stir together for 1 min. Next add the verde sauce, chicken, beans, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil then immediately reduce heat to low/simmer. Cover the pot and let it simmer for at least 45 min. Stir occasionally and add another layer of seasonings. Remove from the heat and add cilantro and lime juice. Serve and garnish with Mexican cheese, freshly sliced jalapeños, and tortilla chips 🔥 by @babysipbrit

I made gochujang shakshuka 🤩
#foodporn #nomnom #foodie

What you need 📝
🔹1 can (14.5 oz) fire roasted diced tomatoes
🔹1 red bell pepper diced
🔹1 small yellow onion diced
🔹4 garlic cloves minced
🔹4-5 eggs
🔹2 heaping tbsp Gochujang
🔹fresh cilantro chopped
🔹EVOO, salt, pepper, paprika, ground coriander
🔹loaf of hearty bread
▪️optional: 1 jalapeño/serrano pepper diced without the seeds

How to make it 👩‍🍳
In a large pan that has some depth and a lid, set heat to medium and add your EVOO. Sauté the onion, garlic, and peppers for 5 min. Add the Gochujang and mix with the veggies letting that cook down for 1 min. Add the tomatoes, a splash of water, and seasonings. Mix well, lower the heat, and simmer (lightly bubbling) for 5 min to thicken. Then add another layer of seasonings.

Make little pockets in the sauce with a spoon and crack the eggs into the pockets. Cover the pan and let the eggs cook until the whites are set. I like my yolks to be jammy but adjust to your preference. Uncover the pan, remove from the heat, and sprinkle the eggs with salt, pepper, paprika, and fresh cilantro. Enjoy with a loaf of your favorite bread sliced and toasted! by @babysipbrit
