Got an idea you’ve been sitting on? Stop waiting for everything to be perfect.

1. Simplify it.

What’s the MVP? The smallest version of your idea you can actually execute? Work with what’s already in your hands. It doesn’t need to be the final version, just something real enough to test.

2. Minimise the risk.

Starting doesn’t mean risking everything. Pre-sell it. Borrow equipment. Get things sponsored. Test it for a day instead of committing to a year. Make the risk small enough that you can survive being wrong.

3. Set a date.

This might be the most important one. “Someday” is easy to keep moving. A date turns someday into this day. Once there’s a deadline, decisions have to be made and things have to get done.

4. Try it.

It might work. It might not. Most likely, some parts will and some won’t. You can improve something that exists. It’s pretty hard to improve something you never started.
