Family. ❤️

I had the vision for the Dallas Bachata Festival — but my family made it real. My mother Rosa, my father Paz, and my brother Guadalupe worked every single year to make this festival possible.

Together we built Texas' first Bachata Festival — and kept it going for 17 years. Every year, they were there: helping me organize, solving problems, welcoming dancers, doing whatever it took.

I am so grateful for all of their support — for helping me make my vision come to life, year after year after year.

This festival was never a one-man show. It was a family. And it always will be. ❤️

Some heroes step in when it matters most. 💪

Right after COVID cancelled our festival, Jacob and Ruben stepped up. When we returned in 2021 and I couldn't physically be there, Jacob agreed to run the festival as event director on my behalf — and together, he and Ruben coordinated, managed, and kept everything in perfect order.

They were my eyes and ears. They kept the festival alive — and those events were perfect. The attendees loved them.

If it wasn't for Jacob and Ruben, the festival wouldn't have happened right after COVID. They were the most amazing partners, and they helped me continue this tradition for five more years.

Thank you both — from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

DJ Papa Peter joined our DJ family years ago and brought the absolute best in Bachata, Salsa, Kizomba, and Zouk. He was the ONLY featured DJ who played in almost every single room at our social parties — that's how much we trusted his sound.

Beyond Dallas, Papa Peter was part of the magical events I've done around the world — including Shanghai. Two festivals, one world-class DJ, countless unforgettable nights.

Before the first workshop. Before the first show. Before the first dance — there was Corinne. 💛

Corinne Deehan was the very first person every attendee met at the Dallas Bachata Festival. And she greeted every single one of them with so much joy, warmth, and friendliness that the tone of the whole festival was set from the very first moment.

Registration isn't just check-in — it's the first hello. And nobody did it better. Year after year, Corinne made thousands of dancers feel welcome, at home, and part of the family.

Every great festival has a heartbeat. Ours was DJ Jose. 🎧

Jose was our FIRST DJ — there from the very beginning — and he played every single year, all the way to our last dance. 17 years of setting the perfect vibe, reading the room, and giving our dancers exactly what they needed before they even knew they needed it.

And he didn't stop at the booth. Over the years Jose grew into our sound and lighting production too — the man literally made us look AND sound amazing.

Thank you, Jose — for 17 years of incredible music, true friendship, and for sharing your talent with every single person who ever danced at our festival. We're so grateful. ❤️

Some people don't just work an event — they become the event. 🎤

For 17 years, Jay Styles was the voice, the face, and the heart of the Dallas Bachata Festival. The MC who held the entire weekend together. The instructor who poured his soul into every class. The ambassador who made every dancer — first-timer or veteran — feel like family.

He brought the audience, the instructors, and the energy together like nobody else could. Every show flowed because of him. Every night came alive because of him.

Jay, thank you — for 17 years of hard work, heart, and hype. This festival was unforgettable because YOU were in it. ❤️

Long before bachata festivals became common, Jorge was one of the very first instructors to travel the world teaching and promoting our dance. His impact on the global bachata community is impossible to measure.

Jorge was also my partner in producing two of the very first bachata festivals in the United States—the Reno Bachata Festival and the San Francisco Bachata Festival. We’ve shared this journey for decades.

He’s flying all the way from Texas to celebrate my 60th birthday with us, and if you’ve never taken his classes, you’re in for a treat. Jorge has a rare ability to make complex movements simple, practical, and fun.
