Such an innocent & joyful moment and I am so glad I was there to capture it. Looks like Coco has picked up my rose obsession. Even he also can’t resist the roses!! 😆😍

A little extra special on my plate today. ❤️🌿

For the first time, I made a Red Amaranth dish (Cheera thoran) using amaranth that I grew right here in my own garden.

Red amaranth is something we don’t easily find here except at Asian markets, and since I’ve never really found an organic option, I always hesitated to buy it. So being able to grow it myself, harvest it fresh from the garden, and turn it into a dish exactly the way my mom used to make it brought back so many memories. ❤️

There’s something incredibly comforting about recreating the food you grew up eating..especially when the ingredients come from your own backyard. And besides being delicious, red amaranth is packed with iron, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants!!

The quiet beauty of Lake Quinault, the timeless charm of the lodge, and the way nature wraps itself around every corner… it’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, look around, and simply take it all in.

Coming from the desert landscapes of Phoenix, it felt like stepping into a completely different world. Towering evergreens, lush rainforests, and a kind of peaceful beauty that’s so different from what we see every day.

What makes this place even more special is its history. It was here that Franklin D. Roosevelt was inspired to establish Olympic National Park in 1937!!

This morning at one of my dear friend’s homes, and honestly, it feels like I am at a hill station. ❤️ The mountains wrapped in a soft blanket of fog, the cool misty morning, and the gentle shower… what a breathtaking sight! Everything feels so dreamy and magical. 🥰

After a long time, we finally got some really good rain here in North Phoenix. A little timelapse of watching the rain roll in….until it started pouring down on me and I had to run inside! But so much needed, and so beautiful to watch.
Hopefully my plants will make it through without any damage. 🤞🌧️

Fall, I think I’m falling for you. 🍂🤎

The weather has been so pleasant lately that even Coco spends most of his time outside..sitting by all the flowers, peacefully sleeping, listening to the birds chirping, or just enjoying the gentle breeze. 🐾

It makes me so happy to see him enjoying this beautiful weather just as much as I am. 🥰 These quiet little moments are what make fall feel so special. 🍂🍁

If we’re talking about roses with that old romance vibe, these two DA beauties fit in perfectly.

First is Gentle Hermione.
This is her very first bloom in my garden, and she’s absolutely beautiful. She’s still small and not quite true to her size or form yet, but I know this is only the beginning and she’s going to get even more beautiful with future blooms. & she has such a lovely, sweet fragrance too.
I was actually expecting more of a dreamy, soft white-pink rose, so the subtle peachy-pink tones completely surprised me. But honestly, I have no complaints. She’s beautiful just the way she is. ❤️

And then there’s Golden Celebration.
This is one rose that was never really on my favorites list, but bloom after bloom, she’s slowly making her way into my top roses. The flowers are getting fuller and prettier, she did wonderfully through our Arizona summer, and she blooms so consistently.
And just look at those colors! 😍 That peachy-golden glow with the soft blush-pink edges is gorgeous. I have lavender and gaura growing around her, and against those colors, she looks even more beautiful.

So these two beauties, Gentle Hermione & Golden Celebration are my picks for this week. 😍😍

When I randomly threw a packet of zinnia seeds into this garden bed, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. 😄

I didn’t know much about zinnias, how to grow them, or what to expect. I definitely didn’t expect them to keep giving me flowers almost every single day for months.

And now I get to walk into my backyard, cut a handful of flowers, and make myself a fresh little bouquet. For months now, there hasn’t been a single day without a fresh bouquet in my house. ❤️

Nothing fancy, not for any special occasion & not to impress anyone. Just for me. And that feels incredible. 🥹❤️

I really wish every day looked like this.

And next year, I’m taking my zinnia game seriously. Because seriously…who wouldn’t want this? 😍

While many parts of Phoenix saw a huge hailstorm on Wednesday, something we haven’t witnessed in years…it was surprisingly quiet at our place. Just a light shower, a little thunder, & a peaceful evening. And when the clouds finally cleared… the sky looked like this. The most beautiful glow & it lit up the entire place. 🧡🧡

So grateful for evenings like this, and for this little corner we call home, with open skies and mountains right behind us.
Such a beautiful ending to a stormy day. 😍

Nothing I’ve ever bought has given me the kind of happiness my dog does. ❤️🐾
