My goal is to make toys look as close to comic book drawings as I can using filters and photoshop. I’m not a toy photographer. This is purely for fun!

My first attempt at this was in 2024 and while it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever done it definitely had plenty of room for improvement so I thought I’d take another crack at it. I’m including the original (last slide) for comparison. Funny enough I also posted that on the 29th 😆

I was running an errand the other day and this song by Fuel came on. Anytime I hear it I think of the Daredevil movie from 2003 (personally I love it!). So naturally I start thinking about Daredevil and this image popped in my head. I got started on it as soon as I got back home 😄

I’m trying out a filter called Depth Lighting which I think is interesting. It’s what I used for the Kingpin picture and thought I’d try it out on this one (first picture). I like the lighting effect on the edge of Daredevil’s head. I’ll be posting a separate picture of Elektra later.

I didn’t even plan on doing this today 😂

I saw a bunch of pictures of the sunset in New York City last night and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Funny enough I never saw anyone mention Maximum Carnage. Plenty of mentions of Batman or TMNT though. I really envy anyone that got to witness that in person!

Changing out his “arms” was such a good decision. I don’t remember what they were originally. I think maybe they were for a reading light or something. Very bendy and can hold Doc Ock up pretty good.

As much as I love the Spider-Man cover I just did I do worry that the side with all the villains is a little too busy. With all the colors and the city behind them it’s not easy to focus on them immediately. Idk. In any case that’s why I’m doing some solo pictures so that they get proper focus 😊

I really liked how War Machine turned out when I was working on the Iron Man comic cover so I wanted to give him his own individual card. Plus I do like to show my work on the off chance that anyone thinks these don’t originate from actual pictures of figures. I’ll probably post a few more individual characters from the past 12 comic covers.

Ok so this will be the last in my “Deadly Liaisons” series. Seems like a good one to end on too. I wanted to get most of the main Marvel titles and these were definitely a lot of fun to work on. I didn’t do X-Men because they had Fatal Attractions, which I’ve mentioned these pictures are an homage to.

HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean I won’t be doing regular comic covers in the future. I really love the freedom of doing two pictures (possibly more?) to create a splash page/portrait. And I can get even more in without the hologram card and text to account for.
