Over the past 12 years I’ve lived and worked in 26 different states. I’ve lived in apartments, houses, my truck, tents, hotels, motels, AirBNB, VRBO, under the stars, and on many a couch. Tomorrow I close on a house in this beautiful place. I’m finally settling down and starting a family. (The previous sentence is false. Who are we kidding?!) As soon as I move in I’ll be traveling to at least 7 states and and 5 countries in the first two months of home ownership. However, if anyone wants to climb on rocks in my back yard, eat awesome food we cook up in a real kitchen, or crash at my place for the night while driving through the hills let me know. Also, there’s a chance I won’t be around when you visit, so make sure to close the door on your way out!

I heard in it the mornings as you happily rolled on your back, collar jingling. No matter the time or how much sleep, it would pull me out of bed with the warmest feeling.
I felt it when you nuzzled your head under the arm or neck of my distracted and likely overwhelmed body, an intuition one only dreams about.
I saw it in your large dark eyes as you focused on your ball while it skirted creek banks into the water.
I tasted it late at night when you’d generously share a carrot or pear with me on the kitchen floor.
I smelled it in my car after a long day swimming, chasing sticks, and rolling in the sand.
It taught me the power of now more than anything.
It woke emotion so deep in my chest, I thought I might never find.
You carried it effortlessly.

When power flows upward from the people, fear restrains tyranny. When fear flows downward from the state, oppression becomes normalized.

Freedom doesn’t vanish overnight, it erodes when people surrender truth for comfort and courage for safety.

I’ve throughly enjoyed the solitude that’s found me while refining my integrity and holding on to kindness.

Growth through healing seems to have its own gravity. The right people feel it and always arrive when the time is right.
