1991 Marvel Universe Series 2: 9-Shadowcat, 57-Magneto, 127-Captain America's Shield, & 134-Infinity Gauntlet

Pencils by Ron Lim, inks by Jim Sanders

This is another peak piece for me, four incredible cards on one board. And these boards are very hard to come by still intact. Thankful to grab my second one.

I also have to specifically comment on that Thanos card too, it's top 10 for me in Series 2. But even cooler for me, as a kid, the infinity gauntlet storyline was my all time favorite and it was penciled by George Perez and Ron Lim in 1991, same year as this card. OA from that comic run is beyond me, but this to me is a great stand in for it.

1990 Marvel Universe Series 1 #97 - Famous Battles Captain America vs Red Skull

Pencils and inks by Art freaking Adams!!

IMO if you look at the overall work done by various artists on these Marvel Universe sets Art Adams (who did work on 1990 Series 1 & 1991 Series 2) by far had the best overall work. Every card of his is an absolute banger and it has always been a dream (and my top goal for 2026) to grab art of his from these sets. And to get one from 1990, the inaugural set is super special.

1992 Marvel Universe Series 3 #2 Quasar - Pencils & inks by Greg Capullo.

Another minor character for my latest, but I love these all. Plus really cool that Greg Capullo worked on Quasar from 91-92 as some of his earliest work at Marvel. This card was drawn in that exact time frame.

Additionally, as a kid I loved every character that hit a full 7 rating on Speed. It was my favorite metric measured on these cards. What's your favorite?
