Probably the coolest encounter of the last months. Peacefully minding his own business, crossing the trail right in front of us. Looking at us like "I'm ok with you humans, as long as you don't touch my grass".

When you already have 1000d+ in the legs and 1000d+ more to go.
⠀
Well, almost the totality of the first 1000d+ were in the forest so here is where the real mountain scenery started. We earned our dinner and sleep that day. The kind of day were in the final kilometers you just wish you can teleport and end the downhill, but two days later you would give anything to go back there.

Digging into memories to set future goals.

We did not summit it this time. Made it to a slightly lower peak though, but we will come back, may be in winter, to get proper conditions for conquering this one.

Still hoping for snow hiking before summer or waiting for the snow to melt ? - ☀️

On my side, I hope/think there will be snow left when hiking will be allowed again. Not a lot, probably not enough to be worth carrying up the skis, but enough to put on the spikes and feel like winter on the summit push ! ❄️

How good will it feel in a few weeks to be back outside ?

Right now, the nearby forest looks like Canadian woods and the fisherman dock feels like Tahiti haha. Travelling through memories, future plans and documentaries. (Having the National Geographic channel is really not good for keeping the wanderlust away 😂)

Little Throwback to Revelstoke, quiet park offering nice easy hikes, featuring lakes, forest and wildflowers. Simple, but who would not want to teleport there in those troubled times?

The Spanish Monument Valley, or may be the European Baldlands ? - 🇪🇸

A few hours away from the French borders lays this gem. Bardenas Reales. Unbielivable small desert with tons of peculiar rock formations, and of course tons of possible hiking trails. But with its unusual composition, the soil is damaged during each big rain : sooo, get ready to avoid meters deep canyon and to have a longer hike than expected !
⠀
Here is sight, "El Rallon", in our opinion, the second best site to hike there, after the Piskerra. Also one of the best place to observe the endemic Vultures of this area. Be careful of the season if you decide to go : due to the breeding period of the vultures, some areas might be closed !

Definitely going to hit other trails there when the border with Spain will reopen ! ⠀
