Backseat is hosting this years brunch-time music at the @horstartsandmusic campsite, trodding grounds paved by Matinée and Kiosk Radio before us.

The recipe is simple: a musical curation for the early risers and hungry. For those amongst you fresh enough to brave the first festival camp out of the year, Backseat has some tricks up its sleeve.

Dear horizontalist,

Backseat is happy to announce its first solo outting in the shape of an ambient afternoon/evening
on sunday the 29th of march in the heart of the Marolles, @bosch_tanneurs

The event is free but to keep us afloat we ask for a small contribution for those who can afford. Please note that capacity is limited (50)

The culprits to get you ironed out in this psychophysical spring cleaning are none other than

islas, a hearth-warming Kiosk Radio-host and amazing selector of all kinds. She stood at the craddle of Basic Moves and its excellent ambient division Gems under the Horizon.
(For fans of Björk, REM sleep and general elegance)

Secondly is Pablo Driesmans, a rare presence behind the decks but not stranger in the fabric of our closely knit scene. Expect a single-minded approach and someone who’s not afraid to defy some norms. You’ll have to take our word on it. (For fans of fans)

Our third guest of honour is Sookie, rising force behind the booth of many a dancefloor. Who, for this horizontal occasion, will evoke a different kind of trance. 90’s inspired chill-out room ambientextravaganza. (For fans of gloomy sunsets and flotation tanks)

Our resident Lorro completes the bill to play some mystical ambient

PS: bear in mind that we’re aiming to create an ideal environment to enjoy the musical delicacies, respect the artist and set the volume on the floor on a whisper. If you want to catch up with a friend, there’s plenty of room outside the venue :)

PSS: we will provide some food for hungry souls

We hope to see you there!

On sunday feb 22nd Backseat resurfaces. No hazy chill out or blissful ambient — just yet. But a dedicated listening experience on @mok_coffee_studio ‘s carefully tuned hifi system. For the occasion we’ve invited @meulemansceline and Boudewijn Ericx, alongside our residents, to drench us in their musical habitats of overlooked pearls, oddball picks and cheeky selections. Ears open!

Exceptionally, a selection of affordable drinks will be made available.
