Ignorant is a nifty tool that checks a phone number against Snapchat and Instagram accounts to see if they are registered.

This also includes Amazon, and it is unique in that it provides a higher degree of accuracy (and lower rate of false positives) than other tools due to its backend.

For cybersecurity pros and ethical hackers, it is an easy tool to install.

Real life example: Background checking employees for social media policy violations.

WebGL fingerprints your GPU at the hardware level before it's even forced through a tunnel.

coveryourtracks.eff.org shows exactly how your graphics card fingerprints you once a webpage loads, amongst much more valuable information.

Your IP changes but your RTX 3080 doesn't. That hash follows you everywhere.

Use a browser that disables or spoofs WebGL at the source.

Dead Man’s Switch - a self-hosted app that fires a message to your chosen contacts if you don’t check in before your timer expires.

Create switches through the UI, API, or CLI. Push notifications warn you before expiry so you can reset without thinking about it.

Multi-channel alerting covers email, webhook, Twilio, and Discord. Single binary, no sidecars, optional per-switch encryption and Authentik OIDC.

vopono - a Linux tool that runs each application through its own VPN tunnel using temporary network namespaces.

Your browser exits through one country while your recon tooling surfaces somewhere else entirely. Every app gets isolated in a disposable network sandbox with its own killswitch, so a dropped tunnel means dead connection instead of a leaked IP.

Compartmentalize your traffic. Runs well on Kali Linux, and is only one apt install away.

Rayhunter - an open source tool from the EFF that detects IMSI catchers, the fake cell towers used to intercept phone signals.

Hackers and authorities deploy IMSI catchers to masquerade as legitimate towers, and phones connect without question. Rayhunter runs on a $20-$50 hotspot, watches the raw signaling traffic, and alerts you when something looks wrong.
