We hebben nog een kleine oplage van deze bijzondere koffie! Bestel hem in onze webshop en laat ons weten wat je ervan vindt! Met tasting notes als granaatappel, kers en agave doet deze Robusta niet onder voor een specialty Arabica. Deze koffie uit India is speciaal. De boerderij wordt gerund door Ajoy en Pranoy Thipaiah, een vader-en-zoonteam.

In tegenstelling tot veel koffieproducerende regio’s wereldwijd, waar bossen vaak worden gekapt om de productie te maximaliseren, groeien de koffieplanten op Kerehaklu midden in een dicht, oud regenwoud.

In de verwerking wordt een moderne visie gehanteerd. Pranoy gebruikt zijn achtergrond in de biologie om de grenzen van koffieverwerking en kwaliteitsontwikkeling voortdurend te verleggen. Met een wetenschappelijke benadering onderzoekt hij onder de microscoop hoe het volledige potentieel van de koffie verder kan worden ontwikkeld. by @backtoblackcoffee

Ja je leest het goed, wij hebben ook specialty robusta. ☕️ Waarom? Jarenlang had Robusta een slechte reputatie en Arabica is nog steeds de basis van de specialty coffee markt, maar dat betekent niet dat Robusta per definitie slechte koffie is.

Arabica en Robusta zijn twee verschillende koffiesoorten met ieder hun eigen eigenschappen. Een zorgvuldig geteelde en verwerkte Robusta kan uiteindelijk lekkerder zijn dan een slecht geproduceerde Arabica. De soort vertelt dus slechts een deel van het verhaal.

Wij laten je graag kennis maken met onze specialty Robusta uit Indonesië: Reza Nurullah. Deze koffie combineert twee hoogwaardige Robusta variëteiten met een modern ‘Lactic Natural’ fermentatieproces.

Deze koffie laat zien dat Robusta een complexe, zoete en verfijnde smaak kan opleveren die de traditionele opvattingen over Robusta op losse schroeven zet. Het heeft een romiger mondgevoel, zachte en afgeronde aciditeit, rood fruit en tropisch fruit.

After many wonderful years at Back to Black, it’s time to say goodbye to Kirsten as she begins an exciting new chapter in Los Angeles.

Rest well, sweet Binkie 🤍

Yesterday, after 14 beautiful years, our beloved Binkie passed away peacefully.

With us since the very beginning of Back to Black, Binkie was loved by everyone. He will truly be missed and will always hold a beautiful place in all of our hearts.

Now he can nap in peace, in a sunbeam as cozy as his favorite cafe spot.

Many of you might not know her, but you’ve definitely experienced her work 🤍
For 5 years, Hana has been an essential part of our bakery, working behind the scenes and making so many of the baked goods we all love.

She works incredibly hard, pours passion and love into everything she makes, and on top of that runs her own business!

The secret force behind so many of our cakes and pastries, and honestly, we hope she never leaves.
