There seems to be some confusion with the Lake Monster closure and @barreltheory taking over the space at Vandalia Tower, so just to clear it up: Monster Bash 2026 is ON! A co-production with @kingcoilspirits, the same great Bash you’ve come to know and love is a super-sized two day event! Friday is a Tribute Band extravaganza featuring @alltomorrowspetty @alchurchandpics. Saturday is a great lineup of local bands including @badbadhats @boyish @bloodline.mn @heavymetalbrassband. Craft beer, cocktails, food trucks, and the Twin Cities best costume contest (Saturday)! Tickets here:

Psychic Readings has been out in the world for a full year 💫

The compilation (released August 2025) features an 11 song collection of re-imagined/re-mixed Bad Bad Hats songs from their 2015 LP 🔮 Psychic Reader 🔮

🌚 What started as a crazy concept, manifested into a very sumptuous, sonic reality ✨ Just like the moon... pieces kept falling into place until we had something luminous and very awe-some. 🌕

And that's ALL thanks to the buffet of talent that poured their energy into the project:

🌌 Hippo Campus, Squirrel Flower, Party Nails, Ratboys, Gully Boys.. pinch us!!

It was (and is!) a treat to hear these acts reinvent the songs we already know and love. We hope you love it as much as we do.

🔭 And since tonight is a full moon lunar eclipse, we invite you all to celebrate the milestone with us! Turn it up to 11 and drop-in to your feral nature! 🐺 There's no time like the present to love what you love. And we LOVE this compilation.

🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘

Available on all streaming platforms. And if you like to own your media, fans can buy the digital compilation on Bandcamp or Apple.

Full moon blessings to y'all! by @badbadhats

Kerry Alexander (Bad Bad Hats) visited The Current to talk about her new project, Megasound, a band that consists of Alexander, her Bad Bad Hats bandmate Chris Hoge, and Party Nails singer Elana Carroll. “It is, ultimately, Megasound summer,” Alexander says.

Megasound have already released the single, “Supersize,” and their self-titled debut album is set to drop on Friday, Aug. 7. “If you're a Bad Bad Hats fan,” Alexander says, “you’ll get similar enjoyment out of Megasound.”

Megasound are the Local Show’s Artists of the Month, and they’re set to perform at the Turf Club in St. Paul on Friday, Aug. 14. Find more information at thecurrent.org/giglist (link in bio).
