😮‍💨 it sucks knowing kids will have to study this catastrophe in time and try to make sense of it. The lies. The misinformation campaign.

But most of all. Worst of all. I fear they will try to make sense of why nobody did anything. Why powers went unchecked. Why people sat idly watching their neighbours get murdered in the streets.

Why didn’t anybody stop them, papa?, they will ask, looking at us with confusion in their trying-to-understand eyes.

I fear none of us will have an answer that will ever make sense.

Because none of this does.

When I was a kid, I was what they called a “bad student”. Detention was the class I attended the most, and even the best teachers couldn’t get me to pay attention.

I didn’t know what I was dealing with. I just knew I couldn’t do what the other kids could. I struggled with focus, got bad grades, and felt lost. Words like ADHD were boogeyman back then, and RITALIN it’s devilish sidekick.

It was only when I found myself alone in nature with my 35mm camera in hand that I felt any sense of calm. So I took photos until it turned into a job and the joy went away.

Decades later, I still struggle. ADHD still pulls me off track.

Some days, I overthink and freeze. Try to answer every ‘what if’.

But every time I stop controlling, every time I pick up my pen or step into a scene, I find flow again.

I hope you find your flow too.

All you can do is try 🐻

Most of us are standing in a world we didn’t exactly sign up for, learning the rules as they change beneath our feet. Or that some rules were fake all along.

It’s new. It’s hard. And if you’re a little scared, you’re not behind.

You’re just human.

But there’s comfort in knowing we’re not alone, and hope in knowing that together, we can still make a change. by @badbearwriter
