Happy Birthday to the boy who I have literally grown up with. Haters be at bay because what's going to follow is a deeply emotional note.
You are such a special boy Amooshi. I still can't thank life, that stuffed karaoke bar, copious amounts of liquid courage, my vocal chords, your smooth talk and Adam Levine, enough, for bringing us together. Who knew we'll be sitting in Goa 12 years later and celebrating your birthday. Ever since, we have both seen a lot of ups with each other, and downs that have come, mostly from the world, and no matter what, the world will never match up to who you are, and what you do for me, every single day. The world will always fall short. You like all the other areas of your life, are a bit of an over achiever in love.

Thank you for bringing your best to the table, being the creative genius you are, and for being a half home maker. Thank you for scorching bad vibes with your lazer beam eyes and stand-offish aura when need be. Thank you for being a riot to hang out with, one that I don't recover from, for days and quite frankly I don't want to. Thank you for teaching me to live in the now, because only fools decide to uproot themselves at the thick of their comfort zones. Thank you for showing me love like ours can exist and I am not in some dystopian world. Thank you for your big firebrick energy, for being solid, my best friend, a shiny disco ball and overall very fly. I fucking love you. ❤️

A thought provoking portrait series for @behno_official x @noun.goa hosted by @shveshve & @goldbuglove was based on what we carry with us. One hardly ever takes a moment to stop and wonder what it is it that we truly carry with us?

One sun-kissed 4pm late afternoon Amish and I handpicked these bejewelled Behno bags designed by @shivampunjya from Noun Goa, a perfect accompaniment for my Gingham 3 ways look and Amish’s handloom saree drape paired with an oversized denim. We casually joked around, laughed and stared confidently at the lens against the rattan frame background and nature, where the grass was a colour of faded yellow and green. Till they told us to open our bags, inside lay a card with a question what do you carry forward? After a bit of pause, my heart said ‘Joy’. In a world too caught up in drawing boundaries, kindness and joy have become rare commodities. Amish chuckled and said you. ‘I carry you forward.’ One upping me as usual. We decided to quit our jobs and move from a city we called home, just so we could spend time with each other. Believe it or not, the city, the pace, the hours, the life and the ambition, made us gun for things that we didn't really want and spend a lot of time away from each other.

In the pandemic we realised how much we truly missed each other when we started seeing each other every second because of the lockdown. And while the lockdown had so many challenges, we were really happy to be in each other's face and take it like a team. That's when it hit us, we don't want to give up this life. We don't want to lead individual lives anymore.
For many, spending time with someone you love isn't reason enough to make hardcore life decisions but for us that tops it. We were born in privilege yes, but ever since we got married, we built everything from scratch, and decided to give that up to build again, in a more sustainable way, where we aren't compromising our time and maximising happiness in every moment.
