funky trapper styled hat inspired by camouflage, hunters orange, and tank girl 💣🔩 my first time felting wool for a project too!! scroll to the end for closeup detail pics

i’m so proud of this one and i had so much fun making it :3 shiny materials include nuts, bolts, washers, safety pins, studs, lighter guards, soda can tabs, d rings, AND a cool piece of metal i found on the ground years ago and knew it would be perfect for something. oh also a little plastic baby that i sewed on. it just fits the vibe
the base is acrylic charcoal yarn carried with this gorgeous yellow green targhee-columbia tweed wool to try and give a camo effect, and i used big twist for all the orange accents. the felted stars on the ear flaps are one of my fav parts. my other fav detail is the bullseye embroidery on the forehead. a lot of love went into making this :>

big ol post for my absolute favorite anything i’ve ever created. so much love n time n detail went into this. i did a lot of sketching and messing w stitch fiddle to get this!

later pics show the work in progress in some extra detail, and some sketches. its deeply personal and is kind of a love letter to childhood me. kind of inspired by all the stages of my youth. i would have gone nuts over this scarf as a weird 10 year old with my insane custom converse and knee high rainbow socks, i would have loved it when i was a weird middle schooler that lived on tumblr, and i would have gone nuts over it as a scene teenager. the final pic is the childhood custom converse that i felt so damn cool in, because kid me had sick taste

its all alpaca and merino chainette wool. the super crazy gradient yarn is y2k from @knit_picks and its probs my absolute favorite yarn. it drapes beautifully

kuromi spiked collar w lace 🖤 art trade with the amazing @jainie_jaine !!!! first post of the year yay! ive wanted to make this for a while i cant imagine anyone else who deserves this collar as much as her 🙂‍↕️ swipe to the end to see what she made meee!!

made with @jellyyarns as always, the base is the color raspberry sorbet, and i used black cotton thread for the crochet lace.

we also made each other some kandi for the trade!! last pics show what i received in my end of the trade :3c she made me the cutest most amazing bralette, i feel so hot in it im in luv. she also made a keychain to match the top and a lil kandi keychain!!! such a fun trade!!!! 💚💚

heres everything i crocheted for my renaissance festival outfit! it was my first time going and i didn’t have any clothes that fit the theme already, so over about a week i worked on a bunch of crochet accessories n wearables to put together a cohesive costume and im really happy with how it turned out!! it was a lot of simple patterns that came together really well. i was going for vaguely apothecary witchy vibes.

the rest of the slides show the little details better, but everything i crocheted for the rennfaire was:

underbust corset made w recycled sari silk and then acrylic yarn for the ties

the shawl was a gorgeous cone of green yarn that i got secondhand, carried w green mohair, and i added small sections of green eyelash yarn to look a lil like moss

mesh hand warmers/gloves made with black cotton thread + green mohair

the skirt hikes i made with black jelly yarn! the orange pouch was acrylic + a variegated wool n acrylic blend. acrylic and mohair for the leaf closure.
the vines were acrylic + some more recycled sari silk! the garlic braid (my fav) are all acrylic as well as the flowers.

if u read this far thank u and what’s your fav part? my favs are the corset and the garlic braid!!

this part isnt crochet just diy, but the blouse was just a t shirt that i cut the neckline off of and strung a ribbon through so i can cinch it! im so happy with how everything turned out! all the belt stuff will be handy for next time i go to the festival but the corset, shawl, and gloves im excited to incorporate into my wardrobe. last pic is a pic of the outfit right before leaving the rennfaire. it was vry fun and i liked having an excuse to wear yellow blush outside of 2016-2019

filet crochet fishbone tie 🦴 slightly modified pattern from @divynecrochet ! only thing i changed was adding the fish 😁 this pattern was super fun to work up and i feel like im gonna make a few more of these i love it so much. its perfect for when i want a small dose of filet crocheting. i also starched it a bit just to make it lie a bit better and i love how it turned out 🙂‍↕️whenever i do filet crochet i do a connected dc stitch to make the colorwork more solid!

last pic is just a selfie of the tie in action at a wedding! i love it so much im so glad i was able to wear it in that kind of setting. i feel like dudes respected my windsor knot.

spiderweb frankensteiny distressed sweater 💜🕸️💚 :> i used neon mohair, some fancy fluffy sock weight wool i lost the label for, and crochet thread + some random sock weight charcoal yarn i had leftover, and more mohair. the neckline is wider than i wanted but other than that im super happy with how it turned out!!

i also added a couple shrinky dink buttons i made cause it felt cute with this top 🕷️ was inspired by a sweater from faeandfyre on tiktok!! for the sleeves i really wanted them to have this specific lil stitch i always see on fae/elf hats and im really happy with how the sleeves turned out. im gonna use this stitch a lot

mesh jelly top w thumb holes on the sleeves 🖤💚! its got a fishnet style to it n feels very emo to me. like the thumb holes are my fav part. the shirt is also super uv reactive so theres a couple black light pics! its made with crochet thread, acrylic mohair, and @jellyyarns transparent green jelly yarn! used an 8 mm hook

i actually started this a couple years ago and pretty much finished it aside from weaving in the ends because.. its thread, mohair, and jelly yarn with a very loose stitch. so it was awful weaving in the ends but very worth it!!! theres some fun little black stitch detailing around the cuffs of the sleeves + the thumb holes that i think is really cute. im really glad i finally finished this top!! 💚

granny square sweater!! i know theres a lot of people that dislike granny squares / the granny stitch but i eat it uppp i think its so so pretty. but smthn simple i started a while ago and finally finished up. its black acrylic yarn + 3 skeins of scrappy handspun yarn that was a wool n synthetic blend. i didn’t give it a distinct front or back so i can wear it two ways!!
i did a lotttt of color changes because im picky about where the colors transition. aaand i impulsively bought the yarn when i first started crocheting, didnt really end up liking most of it so i did a lot to try and hide the colors that i didnt like the look of 😭 im very happy with how it turned out though, the granny square stitch makes the handspun bits look like little jewels to me.

i realized that recently i’ve been thinking too much about making stuff that i think would be ‘most appealing’ for instagram, or making sure it all has a distinct style, and its made creating a little bit less fun! especially when im on here for community. numbers got to my head lol im trying to free myself from that n just have fun making clothes again. but yeah this post is a little bit boring compared to some stuff ive made but im gonna wear this a lot 🎉

starry bonnet ⭐️☀️ idk what i was rly doing here i was just messing around trying to make something funky w a lot of ruffles. maximalist with a lotta buttons. theres a lot of little details i had fun making this even tho i dont really know how i feel about it lol. i used big twist for most of it, along w some pink mohair and my favorite chainette yarn for the star appliqués and stitching! did amigurumi stars for the ties and gave it some ear things. i like it

pinned pierced and patched bonesss hat ☠️ ferment n decay n rot n bones

this is what i made for the Feel it in Your Bones Creative Chain organized by @jaxthe.catalyst !!! last slide shows everyone who’s participating! a fun project to kick me back into crocheting from my lil hiatus. the hat makes me think of that sweet emo boy from jennifer’s body who died too soon. he woulda loved this hat 🪦. i kind of want to make a red n black striped tie to match

i made linoleum print patches, and I used safety pins, keychain rings, studs, metal buttons along with some scrap metal bits i found. def a more simple hat compared to some other ones i made but i love the linoleum patches, and its gonna be followed by my most maximalist hat ever so it’ll balance out. used acrylic yarn for the base + braids, and acrylic mohair for the trim around the hat!

art trade with @crochetndecay !!! they have such sick work w beautiful bright colors i was psyched for this trade. trading with friends is always fun but making friends through a trade? extra fun

i had so much fun making this it was so exciting being asked to make kandi for a trade! they asked me to make a green ufo cuff n a clear pink carousal cuff :> for fun extras and to make it a nice like curated set i made a matching flower cuff and a bunch of singles.

later pics show what i received, they made two custom pop tab chokers 😍 they hand painted some of the tabs, im so fkn obsessed its so cunty especially the pink n black choker. i also received a mushroom lighter holder and a keychain w both our ig handles 🥺
