On his birthday 🎂 Badray makes his solo debut on Sine Space 7 with OSMDS, following his appearance on the label's SS7.018VA compilation earlier this year with the track Sufokia. Four tracks placed in ascending order of intensity, drawing from the same hard, hypnotic territory as artists like Chlär and Alarico, but with Badray's own voice emerging clearly across the record. Opener Elio moves on spacey sonic details, delivered in a staccato pattern and mixed with real precision. Reflet Onirique builds tension across its full length, carried by an iconic sci-fi sound that keeps ratcheting the pressure. The title track OSMDS pushes forward as the record's driving cut, built on classic rhythmic toms that keep the momentum locked in. Closer Friction lands the heaviest kick of the EP, pulling the intensity to its highest point while still weaving the spacey details of the opener back through the mix. EN Blending his latest personal productions with new inspirations, Badray crafts a sonic journey that reflects his musical identity. The set unfolds progressively: a floating, minimalist opening sets the mood before shifting into a groovier, more rhythm-driven universe. The third and final section becomes more melodic and richer in texture, driven by powerful synths and a more immersive energy, where driving percussion gradually gives way to a deep and emotional atmosphere. SS7.018VA is a Various Artists release featuring 7 tracks by 8 artists, presenting a very diverse range of techno tracks. Bringing together new names alongside more established artists, the compilation reflects multiple approaches to techno, from expressive and melodic ideas to functional, club-oriented productions. The tracks move between emotional compositions and more practical DJ tools. Origami’s “Maybachufer” stands out with its strong sense of character, using piano and violin elements to add warmth and emotion to a solid techno framework. Ecilo his track Abandoned Gravity also has this mystical emotional ambience in its flow. On the more dancefloor-focused side, Jack Fresia contributes “Down in My Cave”, a modern, DJ-friendly track built for mixing and layering. Its clear structure and driving groove make it well suited for longer sets and transitions. Overall, SS7.018VA is a compilation that highlights variety within techno, balancing listening-focused tracks with effective club material. Son univers mêle une techno percutante à des textures minimales, toujours guidé par la recherche d’émotions comme fil conducteur. Born in Morocco and now based in France, Badray explores the hypnotic depths of techno through a sound that is both driving and deeply introspective. His sets balance forward-pushing rhythms with minimal, spacious textures, always guided by emotion as a central narrative force. At the core of his approach lies a hybrid sensibility: organic percussion intertwines with hypnotic patterns and emotive harmonies, creating journeys that shift fluidly between inward reflection and raw dancefloor momentum. Each transition is shaped with care, allowing tension and feeling to unfold naturally over time. Badray’s sound doesn’t chase excess—it focuses on intention, depth, and movement. What emerges is a refined yet powerful techno language, built to resonate as much internally as it does physically.
