The GADOGADO (Mixtape) is out in the world.

A wild journey through years of finding my own artistic languagewhich is still not over yet. But it finds its first outlet in a mixture of what I’ve done since I’ve started my BAERK. journey.

Why GADOGADO ? It’s a delicious Indonesian dish and one of my favs. In slang, the word is also used for people with mixed heritage. It felt like the right name as this is a mixture of different tracks from different points in my life, merging a lot of different influences.

Now, it’s yours to listen and explore.

One month in 37 seconds.

@compulsiv3rumination cut this recap of my SEA Tour and I feel like it captures the energy of this trip really well.
Already 4 weeks since I’m back and I’m still processing.

The track you’re listening to is called „YA” and part of a new body of work I’m on right now: merging my electronic productions with Indonesian influences like Gamelan music I’ve found on my mother’s old cassette tapes. Exploring the space inbetween and digging deeper into GADOGADO.

Simp support is a duo consisiting of Benjamin Draad and Laura Maj Zeuthen. For their debut at beboerhuset, they are playing songs that are blending minimalistic songwriting with a punk-ish attitude, music that lean on ‘laptop-twee pop’, embracing foolish romanticism and yearning.

THICKET:
THICKET is Adam “CCsquele” Nielsen and Dan Kjær Nielsen merging in drum entanglement symbiosis, exploring through makeshift shared drums the nature of shared DNA in swarming improvisation, extending antennae and tentacles in and out of this universe and beyond

BAERK. is a chindo-german producer- artist and sound designer based in Berlin. His music moves at the intersection of club electronics, experimental synthesis and Indonesian musical heritage, re- translating Gamelan textures and Pelog tunings into contemporary dancefloor rituals. Rooted in the inner tensions of bi- culturalism and in a deep curiosity about neural synthesis and self-trained AI models, BAERK. treats the studio as a site of ongoing mutation. by @baerk______

In a far away land of dust and sunshine, a group of friends made a shortfilm - "The Visible Child".
After screening our film in galleries and exhibition contexts for the past 6 months, I feel it is time to share some behind the scenes on here. ❤️ Inspired by the traditional javanese shadow theatre "Wayang Kulit". A beautiful spectacle my mom took me to see many times as a child.

We shot this in an old shed in Brandenburg, using what was already there. Dead tree trunks, broken bathtubs, old horse shit, broomsticks, stones. We love set design and the magic of transforming abandoned materials into worlds of their own.

This film was made with endless imagination, friendship, and lots of improvisation. Thank you everyone!
