Save Money Like A KOREAN 💸
Real talk, tourists overspend in Korea all the time 🙈
Here's what locals actually do to save 👇
1️⃣ Skip the pricey chain coffee ☕
Koreans don't line up at Starbucks for a basic americano
We go to Mega Coffee or Compose instead, an americano is around $1.50 or less 🤯
The big chains charge 3 to 4 times more for the exact same thing
They're on basically every corner, so you're never far from one ✅
2️⃣ Don't souvenir shop in Myeongdong 🛍️
The touristy streets quietly mark everything up
Walk into the nearest Daiso instead, snacks, K-beauty, cute gifts, all capped under $5 💖
Tip: the Myeongdong Daiso is 12 floors right by Exit 1, and the Gangnam Express Bus Terminal one is huge and all on a single floor 🏬
3️⃣ Never taxi during rush hour 🚕❌
Traffic is brutal and the meter just keeps climbing
Take the subway every single time, base fare is about $1 with a T-money card 🚇
Faster, cheaper, and you're never stuck in traffic ⚡
Grab a T-money card at any convenience store for around $2 to $3
Save this so you don't waste a single won 💸✅
Which tip are you using first? 👇

Don't Do This in Korea 🙅

Small habits, big difference 🇰🇷
3 etiquette rules every visitor should know before landing 👇

1️⃣ Never stick chopsticks straight up in your rice 🍚🥢
It looks like the food offerings set out for the dead during ancestral rites 🕯️
✅ Do this instead: lay them flat on the table next to your spoon

2️⃣ Use two hands when giving or receiving 🤲
Handing over a card, a gift, a drink, anything 🎁
It's a simple way to show respect, especially to someone older
💡 Tip: if one hand is full, just touch your other hand to your wrist or forearm, it still counts!

3️⃣ Keep it quiet on public transit 🚇🤫
No loud chats or phone calls on buses and subways
💡 Tip: watching videos? Earphones on 🎧
Seoul subway gets thousands of noise complaints every year, so locals really notice this one 👀

Follow these 3 and Koreans will notice, trust me 😉

Which one surprised you the most? 👇

Gyeongbokgung: Bad, Good, Great 👑

Visiting Seoul's biggest palace? Don't just wing it 😅
Here's how to level up your visit 👇

1️⃣ Entry 🎟️
❌ Bad: single ticket, about $2
👍 Good: Royal Palace Combo Pass, about $4 for 4 palaces + Jongmyo Shrine, valid for 6 months
🌟 Great: wear hanbok and get in FREE 👘
💡 Tip: it has to be a full hanbok, top plus skirt or pants. A hanbok top with jeans doesn't count!

2️⃣ Arrival Time ⏰
❌ Bad: noon, peak crowds 🥵
👍 Good: 10AM, right on time for the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony at Gwanghwamun Gate
🌟 Great: 9:35AM, catch the gate guards' open training first, stay for the 10AM ceremony, then walk into a calm palace ✨

3️⃣ Photo Spot 📸
❌ Bad: Geunjeongjeon, the main throne hall, where literally everyone is standing
👍 Good: Gyeonghoeru, the pavilion that looks like it's floating on the pond
🌟 Great: Hyangwonjeong, a little pond pavilion from around 1885 with a white arched bridge, fully restored and reopened in 2021 🤍

4️⃣ After the Palace 🚶
❌ Bad: Insadong, touristy and packed
👍 Good: Samcheong-dong, cute cafés and galleries ☕
🌟 Great: Seochon, the local side west of the palace, go try the coin lunchbox at Tongin Market 🪙🍱

5️⃣ Who to Go With 👯
❌ Bad: alone
👍 Good: with friends
🌟 Great: with Baetrip 😎

📍 Gyeongbokgung Palace: 161 Sajik-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul
🚇 Gyeongbokgung Station, Line 3, Exit 5, just a short walk
🕘 Opens 9AM, last entry 1 hour before closing, closed on Tuesdays

Pottery Inside an Electronics Mall? 🏺

Okay, I did NOT expect to find a pottery wheel in Yongsan Electronics Land 😳
One of Seoul's most famous electronics hubs, and right now there's a hands-on craft pop-up inside 🎨✨

Here's what you can do 👇

1️⃣ Throw clay on a real pottery wheel 🌀
The instructor helps you the whole time, so zero skills needed 🙌

2️⃣ Paint your own design 🖌️
Your piece, your colors, totally one of a kind 💛

3️⃣ Make rings and little decor pieces 💍
Cute souvenirs you actually made yourself 🎁

Our next events: Nov 27–29 & Dec 4–6, with a Christmas theme! 🎄

💡 Tips
• Pop-ups don't stay forever, check the dates before you go 📅
• Wheel pieces usually need to be fired first, so ask staff about pickup or shipping 📦
• Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little clay on 👕
• Super fun with kids, perfect family activity 👨‍👩‍👧

🚇 How to get there
About a 10 min walk from Yongsan Station, Line 1
📍 Yongsan Electronics Land: 74 Cheongpa-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Seoul Glows After Dark 🌙

You've seen Seoul by day, now see it lit up ✨
3 spots that look even better at night, and all 3 are free 🙌

1️⃣ Myeongdong Cathedral ⛪
Korea's first Gothic building, finished back in 1898 🧱
Red brick, a 45m bell tower, and a soft glow after sunset that feels like Europe 🇪🇺
📍 74 Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul
🚇 Myeongdong Station, Line 4, Exit 8, about 5 min walk
💡 Tip: Inside visiting hours change with the mass schedule, so come right after sunset for the outside view

2️⃣ Cheonggyecheon Stream 🌊
This stream was buried under a highway until Seoul brought it back in 2005 😮
Now it's lit up by over 10,000 lights ✨
📍 Start at Cheonggye Plaza, Taepyeongno 1-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul
🚇 Gwanghwamun Station, Line 5, Exit 5, about 2 min walk
📸 Tip: The 2 tier waterfall at the plaza glows in 3 colors at night, best photo spot
🏮 Coming in winter? The Seoul Lantern Festival usually lights up the stream, check the dates before you go

3️⃣ Yeouido Hangang Park 🌉
This is where locals actually spend their nights 🍗🍺
Order fried chicken to the park's delivery zones, grab a drink from the convenience store and just watch the river lights
📍 330 Yeouidong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul
🚇 Yeouinaru Station, Line 5, Exit 2 or 3, about 4 min walk
🎈 Want the view from above? Seoul Dal, the moon shaped balloon in nearby Yeouido Park, rises up to 130m, about $18 for adults, usually noon to 10pm

Which one would you pick for your Seoul night? 👇
