This was a “make your own” breakfast sandwich at Bagels by the Book in Libertyville!!! I’ve recently been expanding sometimes away from my usual, and I have not been disappointed! This was a spicy everything bagel, chive cream cheese, red onion, arugula, egg, sausage, and hash brown sandwich. A hash brown is lowkey a game changer on a breakfast sandwich, and I love the simplicity of the chive cream cheese as well as the bite of the onions. The only thing that I would’ve changed was to have cream cheese on both sides of the bagel, they only gave it to me on the bottom for some reason.

You already know what bagel this is (turkeypesto on spicy everything bagel no avocado). Other bagel involved hot honey and egg and bacon but the hot honey made it lowkey too sweet for me by @bagelrrratrr21

FIRE ARKANSAS BAGEL!!!!! This angel was legit so incredible. Thank you Gabby for showing me how good a bagel can be. This is an everything bagel with hash brown, pepper jack cheese, bacon, egg, hot sauce, and garlic and herb cream cheese. This was legit so so good. It was so creamy and crispy all at once. The flavors were so sharp and it cured my hangover. If I went to Arkansas TRUST I would be here at least once a week.

D. Siegal: Good bagel, but I forgot to ask for salt, pepper, and ketchup. That’s on me, it likely would’ve elevated the bagel to the next tier but we won’t know unless I go back. Generous with the bacon, but the bagel seasoning wasn’t as well spread as Kaya’s despite both getting an everything. Still happy with the bagel overall.

K. Owczarek: Quality NY bagel. My very first! Lox on an everything bagel (the seasoning was well spread). Great flavor & well baked bagel. Scallion cream cheese was phenomenal. I honestly loved it !!!! No notes for this bagel.

Jalapeño Everything Bagel w/ Lox Spread & Tomato

Apologies for the half-bagel picture. I wasn’t planning on doing a review, but a bagel so good I’d categorize it as life-changing forced me to reconsider halfway through. Fresh bagel with the crispy outside and fluffy inside (and the bubbles on top), unbelievable respect for the schmear with the lox spread, tomato to tie it all together. Simple, beautiful, delicious. Inhaled the whole bagel in about thirty seconds flat. Absolute perfection. Don’t think I could ever get sick of this.”

Asiago bagel with bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and jalapeño garlic cream cheese
Delicious bagel, bread was soft and flavorful, not dry at all. The cream cheese was amazing it gave it the perfect spicy kick to it, I just wish they would’ve added more cream cheese. The bacon could’ve been crispier but overall a good combo of flavors and a great bagel option.

Work bagel!! Last Boston bagel!!! Okay so this bagel was from Kupal’s in Brookline and was recommended by my boss Anthony (Anthony if you ever see this I think BlackSheep might be better). We both had a full lox, garlic and herb CC, capers, tomatoes, and onions sandwich. Obviously this looks gas and it was really good. However, we both agreed that the bagel was fine and the sandwich was more about the filling than the bagel (it SHOULD be about both I feel). His rrrating is 🥯🥯🥯🥯.15/🥯🥯🥯🥯🥯 and mine was 🥯🥯🥯🥯.2/🥯🥯🥯🥯🥯. Still really good though. I also gave my desk neighbor Eric a poppyseed bagel with garlic and herb CC (not pictured) and he gave it 🥯🥯🥯.5/🥯🥯🥯🥯🥯 which is obviously not great but the bagel itself does not really stand out by @bagelrrratrr21

Newport bagel!!! Okay so we went to The Nitro which is apparently this famous viral cafe. I was so hungry but of course everything on the menu had avocados (no) so had to go with a classic everything bagel. I added cacio e Pepe CC (novel) and some roasted turkey. The Delray Club from Call Your Mother was the perfect mix of sweet, savory, salty, and fresh. The nectarines and peach cream cheese went well with the bacon and the crunch from the potato chips gave it a little oomph. No jalapeños on this one, but they would just make it a little fresher. 🥯🥯🥯🥯/🥯🥯🥯🥯🥯

The Thunderbird (not pictured) was soooo good. It had the qualities of a gourmet McGriddle, with sausage, bodega style eggs, and a fantastic maple and pepper bagel. The ratio sausage/egg to bagel was on point, they have truly perfected their craft. Only complaint was that the maple bagel leaves your hands a mess. Overall, 🥯🥯🥯🥯.65/🥯🥯🥯🥯🥯
