“Dancing samba is my passion; it’s a moment where I connect with myself.” “Dancing is like learning a language.” These are just a few of the inspiring thoughts shared by Alain and Bruna, our samba teachers at Bailastudio, during a recent get-to-know-you session. Curious about their journey with samba, we asked them about how they started dancing, what inspires them both as dancers and teachers, and some of their most memorable experiences with samba de gafieira. Their insights are both encouraging and reassuring, especially for beginners. They explain why it’s important not to place too much pressure on yourself or set unrealistic expectations, but instead to enjoy the process, embrace each moment, and appreciate the learning journey. For Alain and Bruna, samba is about much more than dance steps—it’s also about connection, belonging, and community. We’re incredibly happy to have them as part of the Bailastudio team, and we hope their story inspires and motivates you to take your first samba class. by @bailastudio_aachen
