China dump A massive week and definitely one I won’t forget. I gave it everything I had in the tank, but unfortunately by race day, the tank was pretty much empty. I’m disappointed with the way I performed at the @pumptrackworlds because I know I’m capable of more. But at the same time, I’m proud of what I overcame just to get myself there and onto that start line. Qualifying for Worlds, travelling to China and racing against some of the best riders in the world, all while being right in the middle of a full-time university exam block, was a pretty massive undertaking. The result wasn’t what I went there for, but sometimes you’ve got to look beyond the result. I gave everything I had that week, and sometimes there just isn’t anything left to give. Still bloody grateful for the opportunity, the people, the experience and another chance to represent Australia doing what I love 🇦🇺 Also not so fun, fun fact from the trip we were on an almost completely vegetarian diet because of concerns around growth hormones in some of the meat in China. Safe to say I’ve never been so excited to see chicken again China, you were an experience. Until next time 🤘🏼 📷 @moonhead_media @kaptur_photographie #worldchamps #pumptrack #china #love @dharcoclothing @maxxisbike @physiodynamicscleveland @pedalinn.au @crankbrothers @deitycomponents @wearelusty @juicelubes @pitviper_au @baileymearesbikecoaching by @baileymeares
22 today and what a year it’s been. As always, my life has been a roller coaster. From emergency surgery in April, to being apart of my first research team, all the way to racing my bikes around the world. There definitely hasn’t been a dull moment. I’m forever grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me, the places this crazy life has taken me, and most importantly, the incredible people I’ve met along the way. There’s a special place in ma heart for you all. 😘 Here’s to 22 and whatever chaos comes next. Xoxo gossip girl by @baileymeares
23rd IN THE WORLD. 1st IN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE. ❤️ Some would call me The People’s Champion, but I’ve never been one for titles. I’m far too humble for that. Absolutely stoked to receive the Spirit of Pump Track Award at the World Championships! An award recognising the rider who best embodies the spirit of pump track racing, passion, sportsmanship, enthusiasm and apparently being an absolute clown on the international stage. I’ve always believed winning isn’t everything. Which is fortunate, because 22 other riders clearly had different plans. Massive thanks to the Velosolutions Organising Committee for recognising something in me that the stopwatch clearly couldn’t. Congratulations to everyone who raced. Sure, some of you were faster, but did you capture the hearts and minds of the people? 😂 And while we’re celebrating the important things in life… WHO DOESN’T LOVE BJ?? ❤️ I certainly couldn’t get enough of it. I explored things that were forbidden, found myself up a Great Wall, and pushed my physical limits in ways I hadn’t quite anticipated. It started with plenty of excitement and confidence, but halfway through things got hard. By the time I’d finished, I was dripping with sweat, my legs were trembling and I was completely spent. BJ was everything I’d hoped for. Hot, sweaty, physically demanding and left me with a huge smile on my face. Would I go back for another round? Absolutely. Although I might need to work on my stamina first. 😂 Seriously though, what an incredible experience. Amazing people, great racing, plenty of laughs and memories that will last a lifetime. Huge thanks to everyone who supported me, cheered me on and put up with my nonsense along the way. As for the award, I promise it won’t change me. I’ll remain the same modest, approachable, slightly delusional idiot I’ve always been. Please respect my privacy as I adjust to the enormous responsibility of being a role model to literally dozens of people. #pumptrack #pumptrackworldchampionship #w23 @dharcoclothing @maxxisbikeau @physiodynamicscleveland @pedalinn.au @deitycomponents @crankbrothers @wearelusty @pivotcyclesaus @pitviper_au @griffithsportscollege by @baileymeares

Malaysia, thank you. 🇲🇾 I came here for one reason, to win. Although I didn’t get the result I came for, I’ve completely fallen in love with Malaysia. This has been a trip of a lifetime. I’ve made so many incredible memories, met so many amazing people and experienced a side of racing and a culture I’ll never forget. I came for the race, but I’m leaving with so much more. A massive thank you to the organisers of this event and to all the event staff. You welcomed us with open arms and brought us all together.
