Meet Kody! 💙🐾

Kody is a 5 month old certified MUTT—and quite possibly the prettiest boy around. 😍 He absolutely adores children, other dogs, and pretty much everyone he meets.

Kody was found in horrible condition, but you’d never know it looking at him today. He’s made a complete recovery and is one of the happiest, sweetest boys. His past certainly hasn’t dimmed his spirit. 🥹

He walks beautifully on a leash, loves attention, and is always ready for his morning walk. Once he’s gotten his adventure in, he’s perfectly happy to crash, recharge, and do it all over again. He’d make the BEST adventure buddy. He is crate trained and just about potty trained.

We expect Kody to be a nice medium size, around 30 lbs full grown. We absolutely adore this boy and truly think there’s something extra special about him. 💙

This is what a rescue day looks like. 🐾

Some dogs come back with us and begin their journey toward forever homes. Others already have people who love them but need a little extra help. So while we’re out taking in dogs, we also bring food and NexGard to help protect community dogs from fleas/ticks/mange. 💙

Rescue isn’t always about taking a dog away from where they are. Sometimes the biggest impact we can make is giving families and their animals the resources they need to stay together.

We meet them where they are. We feed them. We protect them. We take in the ones who need us. And then we do it all over again. Want to be part of what we do? 💙

There are so many ways to help! If you’re a student at SDSU, join @bajapaws.sdsu and get involved. You can also volunteer, foster, adopt, share our posts, or donate. Even the smallest action helps us reach more animals.

We also have an upcoming spay & neuter campaign, and you can directly sponsor an animal’s surgery. 🐾 Preventing unwanted litters is one of the most impactful ways we can create long-term change in the communities we serve.

Can’t foster? Share. Can’t volunteer? Donate. Can’t donate? Share our dogs. Every bit of support matters. 💙

POV: You’re trying to rescue a dog who has absolutely no interest in being rescued

He was matted, scared, and clever. We ran around the neighborhood looking for him for a while. Right when we were about to give up, someone spotted him.

Thankfully, there’s one universal language we’re pretty fluent in: food.

A little bribery, patience, and one successful capture later… he’s SAFE. 💙🐾

Now it’s time for a haircut, a warm bed, and a much better life. 🥹 Comment a new name for him!

Sometimes rescue is simply helping in the moment. ❤️‍🩹
We can’t take every dog we came across into our care, but we could make sure they had full bellies and provide preventative treatment to help protect them from parasites.

For these dogs, that meant stopping, feeding them, giving them some care, and showing them kindness.

We took the first guy. We wish we could save every single one. We can’t. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make their day, their week, or their life just a little bit better.

Swipe to see Koda’s life transform. 🥹

From neglected, exhausted, and full of parasites… to healthy, happy, and completely full of life. Koda has come such a long way, and now he’s ready for the best chapter yet: his forever home.

Why you should adopt Koda:
• He has two different colored eyes, making him extra unique
• He’s only 4 months old and we think he’ll be about 35 pounds full grown
• He absolutely loves everyone he meets
• He’s a happy little mutt with the sweetest personality
• Most importantly, he has this incredible appreciation for life after everything he’s been through

🐾 8 puppies. One shopping cart. One chance to save them. 🤍

These 8 puppies were found in Mexico being pushed down the side of the street in a shopping cart, all tied together and completely vulnerable to the dangers around them. We knew we couldn’t leave them there, so we stepped in and were able to get all 8 of them to safety. 🐶🤍

Sadly, despite our efforts, 4 of these babies didn’t make it. 💔 But 4 of them fought, survived, and are now safe, healthy, and READY to find their forever homes. 🏡🐾

Rescue isn’t always a happy story. Sometimes it’s heartbreaking. Sometimes we wish we could have done more. But these 4 lives are a reminder of why we keep showing up. Because even when we can’t save them all, we can save the ones we can. 🤍

This is what rescue life is all about.

And this is why we created Baja Paws x SDSU. 🐾🌊 We want to bring SDSU students together to make a real difference for animals in Baja through volunteering, fostering, fundraising, advocacy, and education.

You don’t have to be an expert to make a difference. You just have to care enough to show up. 🫶🏼
