Meet Leo, the newest addition to our bakery team! 👋🥐💛

Leo has joined us through our ongoing partnership with Darlington College @darlingtonfe, and it’s been an absolute pleasure having him in the bakery.

For those who might not know, Bakerman is more than just an artisan bakery. We’re a Community Interest Company (CIC), which means that alongside making delicious bread and pastries, we’re committed to giving something back to our local community.

One of the ways we do this is by working with Darlington College to offer young adults the opportunity to experience life in a working bakery, develop practical skills, build confidence and explore potential career paths.

It’s something we’re incredibly proud of, and we’re delighted to welcome another student into our little team.

So, if you spot Leo working away behind the scenes, give him a wave! 👋💛

Made with our signature sourdough, packed with the rich, mellow flavour of roasted garlic and fragrant herbs, all wrapped up in that beautifully crusty exterior we love.

Introducing our Blueberry & Mascarpone Focaccia, a little sweet twist on a bakery favourite.

Soft, fluffy focaccia with juicy blueberries, creamy mascarpone and a generous dusting of icing sugar. Simple, delicious and rather hard to resist. 🤤

Autumn has officially entered the pastry counter… 🍂🤎

Flaky, buttery laminated pastry filled with sticky toffee pudding, toffee sauce and caramel cream cheese frosting. Basically everything you love about sticky toffee pudding, wrapped up in pastry form. 🤤

Say hello to Robert! 👋🍞

Robert our newest work experience student to join us here at Bakerman, as part of our ongoing work with Darlington College @darlingtonfe.

As a not-for-profit community bakery, one of the things that really matters to us is creating opportunities for young people in our community to gain practical skills, experience a real working environment and build confidence along the way.

Robert will be spending time with the team, getting stuck into life in the bakery and learning plenty of new skills — and we’re really happy to have him with us. 🥐🍞

So if you spot Robert behind the scenes, be sure to give him a warm Bakerman welcome! 👋
