Baker Publishing Group announced that Robert Hosack, executive editor for Baker Academic and Brazos Press, will retire on November 6, 2026, after nearly thirty years with the company.

Bob joined Baker in 1997 and has served most recently as executive editor for Baker Academic and Brazos Press. Over the years, he has championed countless authors and helped bring hundreds of books into the world. Bob brought as much care to his relationships as he did to his books, and his authors and the editorial team will feel his influence for years to come.

“Bob has had a tremendous career in Christian publishing,” said Brian Bolger, vice president of academic publishing. “In his nearly thirty years at Baker, Bob acquired hundreds of books, many of them award winners, and demonstrated a true nose for works that serve the academy and the church.”

“Through his keen editorial eye and strong relational networks, Bob has enriched Brazos Press,” said Katelyn Beaty, editorial director of Brazos Press. “Brazos wouldn’t be what it is today without Bob’s many contributions to the program, securing some of our strongest and most enduring titles. As we say goodbye on the eve of his retirement, we are grateful for the ways he helped set Brazos on a solid path for the days ahead.”

“It’s been an honor and a pleasure to work with Bob these last few years, after having known him for most of my career,” said Jesse Meyers, CEO of Baker Publishing Group. “His contribution to the company and to the church through his acquisitions has been exceptional. His knack for finding aspiring authors with a distinctive voice and meaningful truths to share is a rare gift, and his talent for helping them to shape those ideas into a well-structured book is rarer still.” by @bakerpublishinggroup

Jaime Jo Wright masterfully weaves atmospheric dual timeline Gothic suspense that brings together a haunting historical tale and shadowy modern-day mystery.

In 1879, Eloise James desperately hunts for her sister, who goes missing after being admitted to an asylum. In the present day, Tilly Thompson unearths bones that were never meant to be found, and the past's dark secrets refuse stay buried.
