𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗔 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝘁𝗼-𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, I got to be part of 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (Sept 29, UCLA) and 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (Sept 30, DGA Theater), two days of honest conversations about where AI, creators, and Hollywood are actually headed.

First, thank you to Sharon Waxman (Founder & CEO, TheWrap) and Shira Lazar (Founder, CEO & Host, What’s Trending) for putting together a room where creators, studios, and technologists could finally talk to each other, not past each other.

It was also great to reconnect with people I respect: Bernie Su, Caleb Ward, Noah Wagner, Todd Terrazas and many more. And I’m glad to have met Jon Flynn, Head of FoxNXT, whose session on upskilling creative teams for an AI-powered future was one of my favorites.
One of the best conversations of the week was at 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹, with Christina Lee Storm, about 𝗦𝗔𝗚-𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. For those of us building with these tools, this isn’t a side topic. Consent, likeness, and clear rules are what will let this work scale. Cinema earns it.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺. The talent, the stories, and the builders are already here. Now we need the seat at the table.
And above all, these two days led to something I’m really excited about: a new animated project is in the works. More soon.
