Today 9th September is officially our 10th wedding anniversary! 🤍 So what better day to remember the great celebration we did in Bali last May.

If you’re looking for a different way to celebrate an anniversary, or an original idea for an intimate wedding or vow renewal, a traditional Balinese blessing ceremony is such a beautiful experience.

We wanted something meaningful, fun and completely different from our original wedding, and we absolutely loved discovering and being part of the Balinese traditions.

A huge thank you to our wedding planners @bali.moon.wedding for bringing this crazy idea of mine to life, and to @themarvelous_pictures for capturing these moments so beautifully and giving us these memories to keep forever. 🤍

Tibumana Waterfall. Early morning. The jungle did not stop for anyone.

Sajad and Fatemeh came with a floral arch, a tiara, and a gown that belonged somewhere on a runway. They set it all up next to a waterfall in the middle of the forest and got married anyway.

The water kept falling. The light came through the trees when it wanted to. Nobody asked it to.

That is the thing about this place. It does not adjust for you. You just show up, and it is already enough.

No big guest list. No long reception.

Just Micaela and Luis, a small group of people who mattered, and two hours at Puri Wulandari in Ubud.

The arch was full purple hydrangeas against the Ayung valley. The staircase dropped into the jungle. The last frame of the day was the two of them standing at the valley edge with the mountains behind them and the sky doing what Ubud skies do at golden hour.

Two hours. The right place. That was enough.

Micaela and Luis had their elopement wedding at Puri Wulandari, Ubud, Bali.

Kaylene and Ben had one request. Get married on a beach in Bali, with the kids, and keep it small.

They chose Melasti Beach at 7am. The cliffs, the canyon, the floral arch. Just their family and two hours.

The morning started with clouds. Then the sky cleared and the light that came through was some of the cleanest we’ve shot in. The kids stood next to them for most of the vows, which is exactly how it should be.

By the end of the session, their daughter’s flower crown was slightly crooked. We kept those frames.

Kaylene and Ben had their elopement at Melasti Beach, Bali, and two hours was genuinely enough.
