What if the future of materials starts with the things we usually throw away?

Meet 4tify, a biomaterial company founded by Stan, exploring new possibilities through bio-based and plant-based materials.

By turning consumer insights and material innovation into more thoughtful solutions, 4tify aims to develop durable, recyclable, and biodegradable materials that help businesses rethink how products are made and their impact on the environment.

Because sometimes, creating a better future starts with seeing everyday materials differently.

A couple of weeks ago, I flew to Singapore to mark 25 years of Lamitak — and found myself wandering through a city built entirely around the language of surfaces.

Lamitak City, set within Bras Basah Complex, reimagines the traditional laminate showroom as an experiential space where material, light, technology and culture intersect.

Samples take the form of vinyl records and cassettes, while large-scale panels reveal how dramatically a surface can change under different lighting.

Less showroom, more cultural playground — and a thoughtful reminder that materials are not simply chosen, but experienced.

If you’re a design lover in Singapore, add this one to your list!

What if the best part of a restaurant wasn’t the interior—but everything growing around it?

At ULU Garden, nature isn’t treated as decoration. Mature trees, lush tropical landscaping, and open-air spaces become part of the architecture itself, creating a dining experience that feels deeply connected to its surroundings.

Every corner began with a sketch, inspired by the owner’s vision and personally drawn before being transformed into a space where creativity, nature, and functionality come together.

For artist Romon Kimin Yang, better known as Rostarr, creativity is freedom.

An abstract painter, calligrapher and multidisciplinary artist. Rostarr has spent years developing his own visual language — one shaped by iconography, typography, movement and an instinct to follow his own path.

On 16 October, @rostarrstudios unveils Evolving Landscapes: a 1,644 m² architectural-scale mural bringing his signature Graphysics language to Bali.

Expect an immersive programme across @potatoheadbali spanning digital design, artist collaborations, limited apparel, dialogue and a one-night celebration!

Wellness in hospitality goes beyond comfort. It’s about how a space makes us feel.

At IFFINA+ 2026, Bali Interiors moderated Crafting Wellness: The Power of Visual Identity in Modern Hospitality, bringing together Yoichiro Tomioka of LIXIL and Andi Rahmat of NUSAÉ to explore the relationship between design, identity, and emotion.

From architectural details and sanitaryware to graphic design and visual storytelling, the conversation revealed how thoughtful design choices can shape our senses and create more meaningful hospitality experiences.

A closer look at Every at IFFINA+ 2026.

The Indonesian furniture brand brings a contemporary approach to everyday living, balancing clean forms, considered details, and functionality across its collection.

At this year’s IFFINA+, Every was part of a growing lineup of Indonesian brands shaping the country’s furniture and interior landscape — with the fair placing a stronger focus on design that can move beyond residential spaces into hospitality and larger-scale projects.

A quiet reminder that good furniture doesn’t need to shout. Sometimes, it simply needs to work beautifully!

This place understands something most wellness spaces don’t: atmosphere is everything.

At Ameline Beauty & Spa in Canggu, beauty is framed by a calm, tropical interior where soft neutral tones, organic textures, natural light, and lush greenery come together to create a sense of quiet escape.

Designed by Nitkala Architects, the space doesn’t rely on excess to make an impression. Instead, it lets material, light, and greenery do the talking — creating an environment that feels considered, tactile, and effortlessly serene.

Because sometimes, the most memorable spaces aren’t the ones that demand your attention. They’re the ones that make you want to stay a little longer — and come back again.

We believe design is more than what meets the eye. That’s why together with @enviro.craft @interzumjakarta and @rifyodesign Bali Interiors brought the Design Lounge at @iffinaindonesia 2026 to life through four interactive experiences that invited visitors to think, share, and engage with design in new ways.

From The Design Wall, This or That: The Design Debate, Design in One Minute, and The Sensory Table — the lounge invited the design community to reflect, vote, share ideas, and experience materials through the senses.

Because sometimes, the most interesting part of a design event is not just what you see, but what you get to contribute.
