Some of my favourite moments from my visit to Sarajevo 🇧🇦

Exploring Sarajevo and walking through the old town feels like travelling through different cultures and histories at once. One of the most interesting cities I’ve been to in Europe.
Make sure to take time to walk the city on foot to truly feel its spirit.

✨ Things to do:👇🏼

Explore Baščaršija — Sarajevo’s old bazaar & the historical & cultural center of the city

Beziatan — a 16th century vaulted bazaar

Go up to the Yellow Fortress — One of the best places for a panoramic view over Sarajevo, particularly around sunset.

Cross the Latin bridge

Try Bosnian food — (ćevapi, burek, dolma, baklava (sweet dessert)

Have a coffee/Bosnian coffee at @caffe_asik

Walk along the Miljacka River — It’s an easy way to connect many of the central sights while seeing Sarajevo’s different architectural eras.

Take a tram ride — Sarajevo’s tram corridor runs through the centre and is a fun, inexpensive way to see more of the city beyond the Old Town.

Europe summer, but Balkan edition 🇲🇰

Ohrid ended up being one of my favourite stops of the summer. I really had no idea what to expect and it shocked me in the best way possible. If you’re heading this way, these are the spots I’d definitely make time for:

📍 Old Town Ohrid for wandering around and getting lost in the little streets

📍 St. John at Kaneo for that iconic view over the lake

📍 Plaošnik for the church, ruins and views

📍 Samoil’s Fortress for one of the best views over Ohrid and the lake

📍 Bay of Bones for something a little different. A prehistoric settlement built out over the water

📍 St. Naum Monastery for the beautiful lake views and springs. It’s a bit outside Ohrid but worth the trip

📍 Kaneo Beach if you want to actually get in the water with a pretty incredible backdrop

The best part about Ohrid is that you can have a slow few days here and still have plenty to see. Lake days, old town wandering, swimming, mountains and sunsets all in one
