‹Eyal/Goecke› - Sept 11 In 1913, the premiere of ‹Le Sacre du printemps› in Paris caused an uproar. More than a century later, Stravinsky’s music has lost none of its force.  In the ballet studio, Marco Goecke is currently working with the dancers of Ballett Basel on his own interpretation of the piece. Step by step, movement, rhythm and collective energy come together to create a work about the group: about solidarity, conflict, power and individual responsibility. Goecke does not place the individual victim at the centre; instead, he turns his focus to the collective itself. His distinctive, high-precision movement language meets Stravinsky’s powerful score – performed live by Sinfonieorchester Basel.  Our Work-in-Progress clip offers a first glimpse into this creative process: into the work in the studio, the intensity of the movement and a piece that is gradually taking shape.  On 11 September, the two-part ballet evening ‹Eyal/Goecke› premieres, featuring the Swiss premiere of Goecke’s ‹Le Sacre du printemps›.    ⏱️ Sept 11, Grosse Bühne 👉 Link in Bio 🎥 @stuckinbabia ••••••••••   1913 sorgte ‹Le Sacre du printemps› bei seiner Uraufführung in Paris für Tumulte. Mehr als 100 Jahre später hat Strawinskys Musik nichts von ihrer Wucht verloren.  Im Ballettstudio arbeitet Marco Goecke derzeit gemeinsam mit den Tänzer:innen des Ballett Basel an seiner eigenen Interpretation. Schritt für Schritt entsteht aus Bewegung, Rhythmus und gemeinsamer Energie ein Stück über das Kollektiv: über Zusammenhalt, Konflikte, Macht und die Verantwortung des Einzelnen. Goecke rückt dabei nicht das einzelne Opfer ins Zentrum, sondern die Gruppe selbst. Seine flirrende, hochpräzise Bewegungssprache trifft auf Strawinskys gewaltige Musik – live gespielt vom Sinfonieorchester Basel.  Unser Work-in-Progress-Clip gibt einen ersten Einblick in diesen Entwicklungsprozess: in die Arbeit im Studio, die Intensität der Bewegungen und in ein Stück, das langsam Form annimmt.  Am 11. ‹Eyal/Goecke› - Premiere Day It has been a privilege to welcome @sharoneyaldance to Basel, working closely with our dancers as she brought her unique spirit and energy to ‹Bedroom Folk› — performed in Switzerland for the very first time. At the same time, @marcogoecke has created a Basel version of his current interpretation of ‹Le Sacre du printemps› from 2025. The @sinfonieorchesterbasel , under the direction of @thomasherzogconductor , brings Stravinsky’s legendary score to life. Ori Lichtik — when sound becomes physical    «Creating the music in the studio with Sharon and the dancers, is like a research lab.»   Musician, percussionist and DJ Ori Lichtik has been a key figure in Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar’s work for almost 20 years. As part of Eyal’s founding company, L-E-V, he created and performed live music in direct dialogue with the dancers, allowing sound and movement to continuously shape one another.
