Almost two weeks ago I’ve deleted the Instagram App of my phone (following @katievalentine.me practice) and also intentionally did not went on it to ‘stay updated’ or else. In general, I intentionally reduced any interaction and time with digital devices and screens to the absolute essential.

Here’s a quick recap:
I feel more balanced and present
I feel more rested and focused
I feel more inspired and creative
I read 2,5 books (books that have been laying around for way too long)
I took time to turn inward and moved through blocks
I regained clarity about what resonates deeply with me
I tied up loose ends that kept me occupied or from moving forward
I reduced overthinking and slowed down my racing mind

To disconnect, intentionally, helped me to feel more connected again. Connected to myself, my passions, my path, my tribe.

As for now I’ll keep the app off my phone. I noticed it’s so much energy leakage. For me, time and energy are precious and I want to spent it intentionally and iRL.

ADHD, s*bstance use history, chronic activation or stress - all of them shift your biological baseline.
No need to blame lacking discipline or willpower. The standard productivity advice doesn’t account for any of that.
So it won’t hold for you. No matter the effort. You gotta fix your baseline and accept the fact you are running on a different operating system that needs a different approach.

Recently played for “Short notice” at @ciao_ciao_bar 🪩

It was my first time in a ‘club or nightlife’ setting after my rebabilitation program. I was certainly nervous of how I’d cope with the setting, the late hours AND the temptations.

Especially - since it was just half a week after returning back home and still being in on going recovery. In addition to it the week prior to that was packed and stressful. However, I’m glad I confirmed and took upon that challenge anyways.

It feels empowering to create a new version of myself - everyday.
Establishing new ways of coping in variety of settings.
Diving back into nightlife as a new version of myself and with a healthy preparation routine in place.
Knowing my limits and being firm with boundaries.
Staying clean and in control - not in ecstasies and overthrowing plans out of impulsivity.
Still being able to enjoy, find joy and having a relaxed good time.
Still being able to perform well and bring on a vibe. (For the ones curious I’m sharing more on my current journey, detoxification, and healthy habits on @shapeshifter.lu)
