I was very much looking forward to a grifter/con series from Apple TV. Unfortunately, Lucky just doesn't hit like it needs to. Aunjaunue Ellis-Taylor is, by far, the best character in the series, and Anya Taylor-Joy has great scenes across Timothy Olyphant, but the show lacks the natural charm that comes with this crime subgenre. With some weak villains and lackluster dialogue, Lucky is okay, but nothing to write home about.

I'll admit I didn't have a lot of hope for Prime Video's prequel for Legally Blonde, and while I went into it ready to love it, it turned out to be a bitter disappointment. While Lexi Minetree looks exactly like Reese Witherspoon, her performance feels more like an imitation rather than acting. The story is essentially just the plot of Legally Blonde in Seattle, and although it's set in the '90s, there are way too many modern day anachronisms to ignore.

I'm a big enough of a person to admit when I'm wrong and while I don't think The Bear is flawless as a whole, Season 5 is the closest this show has ever been to perfection. Its return to the roots of the show, keeping the season at the restaurant, and focusing in on its well-developed cast makes the season a treat to watch. Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bacharach, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jeremy Allen White are the undeniable stars of the show, giving us some of the best story arcs with the most satisfying conclusion. What a way to end the series. (And don't worry, Ebra, Carmy's blue eyes faze all of us.)

Supergirl gives a whole new perspective on the superhero that we've never seen before on screen, one that is seriously welcome in the landscape of female superheroes who are often so quickly relegated into one specific trope. Milly Alcock gives a standout performance as a flawed protagonist still struggling to crawl out of the grief of losing her entire planet. I can't wait to see her on the big screen again, especially with David Corenswet as Superman.

Revitalizing this account to say that Emerald Fennell's newest Wuthering Heights is nothing less than an insult to Emily Brontë's legacy. A movie that follows only half of the book and removes its key characters is not an adaptation. This is self-insert fanfiction. It's a romance novel. And honestly, saying that is an insult to both fanfiction and romance novels. Review linked in the bio! by @bamfpire

"You didn't seem nervous at all!" they said. Well, here's a look into my psyche to see how anxious and shifty I am when I'm interviewing someone! Thank god to my video editors who cut all of this stuff out. And thank god for my Wellbutrin prescription. by @bamfpire

I was in Santa Fe recently for the world premiere of #InTheLostLands hosted by @Blancpain1735 🎥 and I got to spend some times with George R R Martin @grrm_nm at walking around Santa Fe's historic railyard district for @Collider. We went to Beastly Books @beastlybooksofficial, the Jean Cocteau cinema @jeancocteaucinema, saw the Sky Railway @skyrailway, and got an early look at the new bar Milk of the Poppy! I also got a chance to chat with Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson about the movie.

In The Lost Lands is in theaters now!

I had a big, big trip this week that I've been looking forward to for the last few weeks! I went to Santa Fe for the world premiere of In the Lost Lands and got to interview not only Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson but the great George R.R. Martin! You all know how much of a nerd I am for his Westeros and ASOIAF stuff so it was such a pleasure to get to talk with him and see the little section of Santa Fe that he had taken over. If you know me, you know I'm a yapper and I would have loved far more time with him to talk about his other projects and writings but I love interviewing authors, they are some of the most thoughtful people and I couldn't imagine having a better interview. It was a fantastic way for me to ring in my birthday (which is today!) and a great feather to put in my cap as a journalist!
