Een middag vol Fun(k) voor kinderen! 🎶

Na twee succesvolle edities is Funk For Kids terug! Connect The Funk nodigt kinderen uit voor een inspirerende middag waarin creativiteit en dans samenkomen.

We starten om 12:00 uur met een Game Design Workshop onder begeleiding van Thomas Rietbergen. In deze interactieve workshop staan fantasie, samenwerking en creatief denken centraal terwijl kinderen samen hun eigen spelideeën ontwikkelen.

Daarna is het tijd om te bewegen tijdens een energieke Locking-workshop onder leiding van Qiqi Jin. Locking is een vrolijke en dynamische streetdance-stijl die is ontstaan in Los Angeles, Californië. Met expressieve bewegingen, muzikaliteit en veel plezier maken kinderen op een speelse manier kennis met de basis van deze unieke dansstijl.

After studying Science Saru's and Ankama's animation techniques, I came up with something similar.

We had a veeerrry tight deadline for this project and using nested movieclips in Adobe Animate where I re-used certain drawings really sped up the process😁

I do however wonder sometimes if its faster to just get faster at drawing or constructing these complex rigs hahah

Een middag vol Fun(k) voor kinderen! 🎨🎶
Beleef een middag vol creativiteit, beweging en plezier! Connect the Funk nodigt kinderen en hun families uit voor een bijzonder evenement waar kunst en dans samenkomen.
We starten met een creatieve tekenworkshop onder leiding van Thomas Rietbergen aka @bamiboydesign In deze leuke en toegankelijke sessie ontdekken kinderen en hun families de wereld van 2D-illustratie. Door middel van tekenen, verbeelding en creatieve expressie leren deelnemers hun eigen ideeën tot leven te brengen.
Na het tekenen is het tijd om te bewegen! Thomas, die ook actief is als danser binnen de community, geeft een workshop breaking fundamentals. Deelnemers maken op een speelse manier kennis met de basis van breaking, waarbij ritme, beweging en zelfexpressie centraal staan. Geschikt voor zowel beginners als nieuwsgierige dansers.
Kom creëren, bewegen en verbinden tijdens een inspirerende middag vol kunst, dans en community!

Another dope collabo with @ronnydecarlo @fonquenouveaurecords for his new song: "Press Rewind" official release coming soon!

This is a little behind the scenes for the animation production. Ronny told me the song is a throwback to 90's and 00's RnB. My cup of tea!😎

The song reminded me of games like Donkey Kong 64 and The ocarina of time somewhat.
Growing up in the 90's I love the lowpoly esthetics of the N64/PSX era! So I wanted to take a stab at it. Thanks @qbutdifferent for inspiring me to do so!😁

So I envisioned a lowpoly girl practising guitar while watching her favorite band on a CRT television played from a VCR tape. And wouldn't it be funny if the TV graphics were from the Snes generation?? 🐒

So I made Ronny and the band in pixelart sprites and overlayed it on top of the lowpoly 3D

Even though I also do 3D and Tweening animation, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE doing tradditional frame by frame animation!😎

You have to have patience and delay your gratification, but the amount of freedom and sense of accomplishment is incomparable to anything else!😁💪

Final part of my 2024-2025 sketchbook series. I find it really important to keep a sketchbook even though you're swamped with projects and life.

It helps me to process thoughts that are difficult to articulate in words. It also helps me unwind. I enjoy the freedom of not having expectations, feedback, deadlines and results. And lastly it keeps my eyes open when I walk outside. Always on the lookout for cool things to study.
