It’s been 16 years on this wheelchair. And it’s not just a chair — it’s been there through everything, quietly witnessing the fights no one else saw.
I’ve seen blood — in hospital rooms, during surgeries, moments I never asked for but had to survive anyway.
Before I ever had a chance to deal with the emotional stuff… I had to get through the physical.
Scars on my body remind me of what I’ve been through — cuts that healed outside, but left something broken inside too.

I’ve had infections, sleepless nights, pain that didn’t care how strong I was trying to be.
And still, I kept going.
I’ve smiled when I was falling apart.
I’ve faced storms in silence.
I’ve learned how to stand tall… without ever standing at all.

All of that — it changed me.
My mind isn’t the same.
When you go through this kind of pain, your brain rewires itself just to survive.
I try to find peace, to feel connected, to let myself feel emotions deeply… but sometimes, it’s like the switch is off.
Like my heart wants to feel, but my mind’s too tired to let it happen.
And that’s the hardest part — feeling disconnected even from your own self.

And Right now, I’m in another tough phase.
Still trying to figure things out.
Still trying to heal.
Still trying to come back stronger — even if I don’t have all the answers.
I’m not done yet.
I’m still here, still breathing, still fighting — one step at a time… even if my steps look different from everyone else’s.

On 25th December 2009, I and my elder brother Prabh karan Singh Thind along with our cousin, went to Faridkot city to run some errands. On our way back, our plan was to swing by a village to drop our cousin at a party but we ended up staying there for a while because the folks there insisted too much. We took off after a few hours. Our house is just a few minutes from there. On our way back, we decided to visit our gas station which was few minutes away from our house and therefore this route was a bit longer. There is a creek (pully) which exists on the route and it was a bit inclined apparently. It was matter of time when we reached that spot and the car was a little accelerated and it was too late to control it . As soon as I realised, the car hit that bump it tipped over and took multiple turns , chopped off some trees until it landed on one side of the road. I suddenly lost my conscious. After few minutes, when i regained my consciousness, i found myself hanging outside of the window with just my legs inside the car. I called out for help, screamed as loud as I could. Still no sign of anyone approaching. After a while some policemen who I guess were patrolling happen to notice that there has been a terrible accident. Soon after they found me and pulled me out of the car. They didn’t realize the intensity of the collision and began to help me stand on my feet. The moment my feet touched the ground, an extremely sharp pain ran through my body. It almost felt like someone shot me in the backbone. I asked them to sit me down because my legs couldn’t bare the weight of my body. They started enquiring about the accident and my family was to be notified so I was asked to give them the contact number. I subconsciously uttered my mom’s phone number and they informed her about the accident. Our house was just a kilometre away from the place of the accident. I was told that brother was lying outside the car facing downwards and will be taken care of. My family took me to the hospital at Faridkot.
