A very peronal note, something very uncomfortable for me, I prefer to just show my work ;) In the silence of a line, in the space between forms, I find meaning. I am Viona van Dijk — designer, observer, translator of the unspoken. As the creator of the jewelry brand BANDHU, I craft objects that balance on the edge of art and function. BANDHU is my response to a world full of noise. A brand born from a longing for clarity, for connection — with yourself, with others, with the present moment. Each piece is a quiet sculpture, an echo of simplicity, worn close to the skin. Minimalism, to me, is not a style but a language. A way of seeing, of feeling, of reducing things to their essence. What remains is pure. Intimate. Timeless. Within each design lies a thought, a silence, a form of closeness. The word ‘Bandhu’ comes from Sanskrit and means ‘connection’. That is what I aim to capture — not only in material, but in feeling. My work invites you to slow down, to remember who you are — and what you choose to carry with you. My creative process isn’t driven by speed or mass production. Bandhu grows organically. Each design emerges through attention – to detail, to material, to the wearer – and most of all, to what doesn’t need to be said. I understand the language of the market, but I speak the language of form. I don’t create larger collections just to fill space – I create less, with greater intention.
