My of my fave photos of Jean and I, sending off @frankiespizzabytheslice on the last night.
I always said I would take Mum, but sadly, she passed away before.
So Jean naturally became the proxy by default.

On Tuesday, Jean peacefully went to join Mum, surrounded by family.

Today, she would have turned 80.

There is a deep spiritual connection with entering this world and then departing close to that date. A full circle, some say.

Call it what you want. It sucks either way.

828 days have passed since I cut my hair super short to start fresh.
In more ways than one.
I didn't think I would last this long without my safety net of bleached, coloured hair.
Turns out I'm lazy.

I hope Lady (pictured here), Molly, Nanna, Pop, and all the other legends I have lost along the way are with you in the great beyond.
Wherever your soul is, I know it is at peace and still not happy with many of my life choices 🤣

You taught me to be a force not to be reckoned with and then clearly had regrets as I got older, but deep down, regardless, I knew you were proud.

You shaped who I am, and for that, I am forever thankful. One day, our paths will meet again, and that fills my soul with joy.

Okay there are enough of you baffled about my current appearance so here is the nutshell version.
This year after not feeling well, I (yes me) went to the doctor. Then I was in RPA. Twice.

I have Liver Disease.
It is genetic and the team believe I have had this since birth. Whilst booze certainly doesn't help it isn't the reason I am here.
I now have it under control. This means weekly blood tests and daily medication.
I have to be cautious of infections because I am now immunocompromised.

I must adhere to a strict high protein, high energy diet. Ideally I should be eating 120g a day. The painful part is eating so often. I am not meant to 'fast' more than 4/5 hours a day.
This includes nighttime. I usually use protein drinks for over night.

Why has this changed my appearance?
Well my new diet has resulted in me losing 28kg. Now this is basically fluid built up from liver edema and ascities.
So I physically look very lean. I'm not starving (TRUST ME SO MUCH FOOD 😑), I am just back to normal size.

So that's it. I'm feeling better and this no booze thing is just a bonus.
If you try to convince me otherwise, I will drop you from my life quicker than I did beer.
I like recovery.
It looks good on me.
