I thank the Lord everyday for letting me get this far, I been to 4 different schools, at one point was out of school, got on the bus, car broke down, flat tires, owed schools money and through all that I am grateful to be able to finish what I start which most people can’t say that they did! God is great he a truly a remarkable being. With the help of my family friends teammates and coaches I am officially able to say that I’m a college graduate! Throughout life we get thrown haymakers which can become hard to adjust to but with God and faith prayer! You can get through it. I’m From LOGAN a small block called Hutchinson, not to many people make it out of my hood but I’m one of them! I still have more of the Lords work to do but this is one step down! My message to the youth or people out there going though things! You can get through it just have faith and a lil patience. Thank you everybody for all the love and support! I wish everybody have a great new year! PERSEVERANCE WOULD BE THE WORD I USE TO DESCRIBE IT

Ricki wanted me to give out ALL PAIN, and that’s exactly what I’m doing! 💔

Beez used to call me Kob, so I already know when it comes to hoops, he wanted me to give out even MORE pain. 🐍🏀

Me and Kha won a chip in Clementon for Joey. 🏆

Uncle Blue always wanted me to GO SHOOT THE BALL! 😂🏀

And Grandma and Sarah was around to see me hoop and become the man I am today. ❤️

Dear Ricki,

It was painful to see you like that, but I know you’re in a better place. I know you’re up there doing all of the Lord’s work, probably trying to lead His worship team just like you did everything else—with your whole heart.

Your funeral turned out beautiful. It’s still painful for me to even say that, but there was standing room only after the viewing. That alone showed just how many lives you touched. You looked great, fly, and sharp as ever.

I had butterflies in my stomach when it was time for me to give your eulogy. I just hope I made you happy with the words I spoke about our relationship, our life together as friends, and the impact you had on me. You were always there for me, and I’ll never forget that.

You passed away on my dad’s birthday, and knowing that my dad was one of the last people you talked to brings me some comfort. That made me happy, even in the middle of all this pain.

Thank you for always trying your best with me and my family. Thank you for the rides, the conversations, the laughs, the support, the workouts, the visits, and all the little things that meant so much. You really were a legend in the flesh.

Your family—Patty, Guy, Carson, and your mom—looked amazing as well. We all spoke so highly of you because there was so much good to say. Pastor Ron gave you a beautiful service and acknowledged the role you played in the church and outside of it.

Ricki, you were more than my friend. You became family.

I’m going to miss you more than I can put into words. I’m grateful that God allowed our paths to cross back in 2014 and gave me all these years with you.

And Ricki, make sure you’re still up there getting your layups and pick-and-roll drills in. 😂🏀 I know you wouldn’t want to be caught up there without getting some shots up.

Rest peacefully, my brother. Until we meet again. ❤️🕊️

I don’t even know how to say this or what to say, man. There is so much to say and so many different ways to feel.

I got a call last night from your big brother, and he told me that you weren’t alive anymore. I immediately fell to the floor and started crying. You were my best friend.

We did everything together. People know how much I loved you, bro. And on that court, we would go at it with whoever. Despite you not being the best, you never let anybody think they got the best of you. That was just the type of person you were.

I was just on the phone with you yesterday. You told my dad happy birthday, and I was giving you advice about life. We’ve been cool since 2014, but you always felt like a lifelong friend.

You always picked me up when I didn’t have a car. You came up to Neumann. You would literally get out of your bed to come work me out. And the crazy part is, you weren’t even a basketball player like that. You would look up drills, watch my film, and tell me what you thought I needed to work on. You came to the gym with me, worked me out, showed up to my brother’s games, and supported everything I had going on.

My personal life events, my basketball career, my family—you were always front line for me. You showed up.

That’s what hurts the most. You were really there for me.

I wish I could’ve had one more conversation with you. One more laugh. One more workout. One more argument. One more day.

I don’t have the right words right now. I’m hurt. I’m angry. I’m confused. I’m heartbroken.

But I want you to know that I loved you, and I hope you knew that while you were here.

Thank you for every ride. Every conversation. Every workout. Every game. Every laugh. Every time you showed up for me when you didn’t have to. I’m going to take care of your daughter and look after her for you bro. I’m going to help your family out the same way you did mine.

I’ll never forget you. I’ll carry you with me for the rest of my life.

Year 4 in two professions is crazy man where is the time going every year presents new challenges, I’m glad I was able to overcome all that and get to where I’m at now! Thank you God for blessing me with being in these rooms and positions!
