Stayed at Deer Lodge so we could roll out of bed and walk straight to Lake Louise for sunrise — 10/10 recommend. Early mornings hit different when this is your view ☀️🏔️

Deer Lodge will be supporting the Lake Louise Ski Resort community over the next two years by housing staff while the resort rebuilds after a devastating fire. Love seeing places like this come together and support each other 💛

Winter is right around the corner! So having this hoodie in my pack saved me on this hike when we got to the lake 😅
Taylor Lake may or may not have been my final hike of the season. I wanted to do Big Beehive next week but with the snow coming and me only having one day off per week, I think it’s better to use my day to winterize my car and get some much needed rest (working two jobs at once can really take a toll on you!). But who knows, maybe I’ll surprise you all 😉

My second trip to Lake Louise did not disappoint! The first time I visited, over a decade ago, the lake was frozen and there was 4 feet of snow - so this was my first time seeing its beautiful turquoise waters. 🩵

💎I was lucky to get a last minute shuttle ticket to this lake with @parks.canada for only CAD $8! There is a small amount of parking at the lake, but only if you get there super early, so a shuttle is your best bet.

💎Lake Louise is BUSY, even when visiting during the shoulder season. But, there are plenty of trails where you can get away from the crowds and get a new view of the lake.

💎if you don’t want to do a long hike, or have blisters like I did, I recommend the Lakeshore Trail. It’s flat, out and back so you can go as far as you want, and absolutely gorgeous.

Highly recommend Taylor Lake for anyone looking for a nice moderate day hike! It is a steady uphill the whole way there and steady downhill the whole way back. It’s about 14km there and back, there is a dedicated parking lot with free parking, and toilets at the base. It took us about 5 hours to complete including a lunch break and time for photos. All you need is a National Parks pass and your hiking gear!
