Happy Ash Wednesday! I’m sorry I missed all the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans but I am enjoying my time out here in the desert. There’s a cool bar called Yucca Tap Room and the area around it is great for walking and finding street art and graffiti. taken in Yucca Tap Room by @bankshotstudios

@ayojuuls and I were moving into a new apartment this week. Meant to be a new start for us after getting engaged. In the process of moving in there was a house fire. We’re not sure what started the fire but no one is hurt including our cats. Everyone is fine. But we did lose some possessions in the fire and we don’t have renters insurance. I am trying to replace some things quickly. Specifically beds. And in addition to that this is actually Julia’s little sister’s birthday weekend and we have Christmas in a few weeks. So I’m spending more money than expected kinda quickly. We’re going to be ok financially but if anyone can spare a few bucks I would really appreciate any help right now. Thank you so much everyone but rest assured we are ultimately ok.

Last New Orleans post for probably quite some time? I’m moving to Phoenix, Arizona this weekend. I’ll be back someday but I’m not sure when. I couldn’t be happier and more excited to be moving out to the desert to be with my lovely fiancé but I of course feel sad and nostalgic to be leaving my city behind and all the beautiful people who make it worthwhile. New Orleans is the cultural capital of America and will always have a place in my heart wherever I end up. taken in French Quarter by @bankshotstudios
