Introducing… Bantam Barge #3! Our previous trailer was no longer serving our needs, and we sold it earlier this summer. As our kids have gotten bigger, they prefer their own tent (if they come camping with us at all), so all the bunk space was wasted.

Our new (to us) trailer is a 2011 Shadow Cruiser, that has a slide out sofa, walk-around queen bed, and a bathroom with a sink in it! It also has a double axle, and an oven… all of which were on my list for what I was hoping for in our next trailer. It still has a small footprint and propane fridge with separate freezer, which were two of my favorite features in our last trailer.

Now comes the fun part… Decorating it and making it ours!

Finally hung my IKEA spice rack shelves, and I’m in love! This area doubles as my workspace, and I’m able to keep a surprising amount in that slim black bin on the seat. Now on the shelves, I also have somewhere to stash my notebooks, mouse, pens, etc.

Hung them with PopToggles, they are very secure- not concerned about traveling with stuff on them at all!

Found a perfect fit for our sink basin! We often camp without full hookups, so doing dishes and disposing of the water elsewhere* can help us add a few days of use to our grey tank. Thought you all might find it helpful too!

The interior diameter of our sink is 16”.
*In approved locations, obviously!

Got a little crafty, and made a light fixture to go over our dinette. I used a puck light and deconstructed a basket/lantern I picked up from the dollar spot at Target. Happy with how it came out! by @bantambarge

Added some black out curtains to our roller blinds so we can catch as many ZZZ’s as possible! Dinette area is coming together, but we may still have a few mods up our sleeves… stay tuned!!

I’ve had a hard time finding something for the cabinet above the sink. With the (necessarily) slanted wall and the outlet/plug/cord for the microwave, it’s a difficult spot to accommodate! After extensive measurements and searching, I finally found one that would work, and (BONUS) it’s adjustable! Height & Length! Since it was a two pack, I put the other one above the dinette, fully extended.

When I put up the backsplash, I took down the manufacturers valance and mini-blind contraption, but it wasn’t my favorite, and I could never bring myself to put it back up. Finally found a set of blinds I like, and I’m very happy with them!

Packing up.
We each get a small shoe-box sized bin for any personal belongings. When we are just camping, I don’t bring too much, but we are visiting some friends, having a few meetings, and stopping in a few cities this trip so I’m packing more of my “everyday” stuff than normal. For me, that means some make up, jewelry, deodorant, my @octocurl, a speaker and charging cords, some skin care, and my embroidery. What are YOUR must haves?

Just got back from a 7-day camping trip, and our first with our slide out griddle. We are smitten! Pancakes, carne asada, grilled cheese sandwiches, eggs and hashbrowns… All of it. We absolutely loved having such a quick, at the ready, large cooking surface. And the best part was that it reduced our cooking dishes by almost 80%!
