🍻 Episode #246: Let’s Try A New One with Scott Shailer of @woodcuttersbrewing ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

One of our big goals for 2026 and 2027 is to expand the pod to breweries in regions that we haven’t typically covered, and this one is certainly a first. Hailing from Whitehorse in The Yukon in North Western Canada, Woodcutter’s Brewing has been doing some super unique stuff for the last six years and change. Founder and Head Brewer Scott Shailer (@woodsowl_00) sat down with @getitinyacee to chat about their “only brew it once” approach to their beers, his eclectic career that took him to Ottawa, Gatineau and Whitehorse, what a hop rocket is and how they use it to maximize efficiency from their hop rate, how he works with the nearby Alaskan breweries and their close relationship, why they’re Canada’s Smallest Music Venue, their 8-seat taproom and the @woodcuttersblanket next door, what the Yukon scene is like and the palate of the region, how close the Whitehorse breweries are, and why he’ll never distribute his beers. They got into six fresh crowlers - German Hefeweizen, Temagami Retro IPA, Tatamagouche NEIPA, Belgian Dubbel, Mango Bier, and Smoked Porter. This was a gem of a chat - enjoy! 🏔️

🤘 GODSPEED BRINGS ROCK TO CANADA 🇨🇦  Y’all are likely familiar with the @ironmaiden Trooper series of beers that have become legends unto themselves, but @godspeedbeer just took it to a whole new level with a Canadian limited edition brew. Joining forces with the experimental arm of @pilsnerurquell.brewery, @pivozelektrarny.cz, Trooper Saturn exclusively uses Saturn hops from the Saaz region of the Czech Republic, and the beer is spectacular. At 4.5%, it’s a Czech-style Pilsner that pours a light copper with a huge foamy head and a spicy, bready nose, it’s crisp and so smooth with tons of toasty bread crust, floral grass and herbal pine vibes, there’s a light bitterness, all wrapping in a dry, biscuity, herbal finish. Just phenomenal stuff. 🎸

And thanks to @ochamebim, we not only got hold of Trooper Saturn, but also got to taste Desítka 10°, their Czech Pale Light Lager, and Mōhani, their New Zealand Pilsner rocking all @nzhopsltd Nelson Sauvin. Both are as impeccable as you would imagine from Godspeed, with Desítka being your full-flavoured, all-day crusher at 3.9%, while Mōhani hits you with some aggressive bitterness and tropical, white grape vibes. 🤌

All three brews (and a lot more) are available now directly from Godspeed or via their online store. Get these in ya! 🍻

🍻 Episode #244: I F**ks With Ducks with John Jenkinson + Matthew Park of @burdockbrewery ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

One of the most legendary and impactful Ontario breweries for us from around the time the podcast began is Toronto’s Burdock Brewery, and it’s kinda wild this is only their first appearance. Co-Founder Matthew Park and Head Brewer John Jenkinson (@johnpjenkinson) joined @getitinyacee and @nathandoesbeer to talk through both of their histories in beer (including John’s first ever Head Brewer job and Burdock’s Edinburgh roots), why they decided to focus mostly on Lagers and Saisons, how their wine beer hybrid obsession began and their partnership with @pearlmorissette winery in Niagara (and the BUMO series), the process of making a beer wine hybrid, their move into 8oz Pilsner cans and @LCBO acceptance, their choices on packaging and why they’re betting on 8oz cans, the importance of being a gateway to new craft beer drinkers, why they opened their Kensington location and the story of their extremely unique steakhouse taproom next door, how their dedication to @the_band_official_ came about, and why they named their flagship IPA “Ducks”. They got into seven impeccable Burdock brews - Deluxe Golden Lager, Pocket Pilsner, The Last Waltz Gold Lager collaboration with The Band, Alto Bianco Quadruple Fruit Grape Ale, Ducktown West Coast Session IPA collaboration with @beertownpublic, Bears Pale Ale, and Ducks IPA. This was hilariously awesome - cheers! 🧸

🍻 Episode #242: Drink Gold with Prathit Naniwadekar of @drinkaurum ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

One of the newest breweries in Ontario (at the time of recording) is Prince Edward County’s Aurum. Meaning “gold” in Latin, their slogan “Drink Gold” is incredibly appropriate for a brewery that focuses mostly on German and Czech-style Lagers and Ales. Co-Founder and Head Brewer Prat (@pratatouill3) joined @getitinyacee and @nathandoesbeer to chat about his eclectic beer history - from India to Ontario, how he met his Co-Founder Joe and how they came across the space that turned into Aurum, why they chose the County and why they focus on the styles that they do, Prat’s experiences in Germany and the Czech Republic that shaped what he brews, the beauty of @LUKR.cz taps and educating the public about mlíko pours, the drinking preferences of their locals in the County, how the fellow breweries in PEC have embraced them and collaborated with them, and their approach to distribution. They got into six killer Aurum brews - Rybička 8° Czech Pale Lager, Denní 12° Czech-style Pilsener, Lys French Inspired Pils, Himmel Bavarian-style Wheat Beer, Nü-01 Dry-Hopped Lager, and Sequoia West Coast Pils collaboration with @amf.beer. This was fantastic - excited to follow their journey! 🍺

🍻 Episode #241: Where The F**k Have We Been? ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

It feels like almost every year we end up taking some sort of a short pause over the summer for obvious reasons, but in 2026, it was a little longer than usual. Both @getitinyacee and @nathandoesbeer were off galavanting across the globe, so we figured the best way to ease back into the pod was to run through all the shenanigans they got up to. Here’s some teasers to get you going: Nate spent time in glorious Mexico soaking up the few beer options available, along with sampling a much wider variety of fire in Rimouski and Saint-Flavie in Quebec. Cee, on the other hand, was going nuts in places like California, England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Thailand, Australia, France and Italy. The fellas told some stories from their travels and covered the beers they got into, along with some obligatory coffee talk. They got into a gang of beers that each represented places they went. Nate cracked @dosequismx Lager Especial, @tecate Original, @microbrasserieleketch Dock 151 NEIPA, and @badbonesbeer Ambulance NEIPA. Cee got into @crownsandhops The Dopest Hazy IPA, @innisandgunn Caribbean Rum Cask Scottish Red Ale, @hofbrauhaus_muenchen München Dunkel, @banksbrewing Cantina Mexican Lager, @kronenbourgfr 1664 Lager, and @birramoretti.italia Italian Lager. This was a fun one - happy to be back! 🇬🇧

Brewhead is back at @toothandnailbeer! One of our absolute favourite @baospodcast 10th anniversary collabs has been brought back a year later and we couldn’t be more honoured and excited! Just like last year, it was released as part of their Pils ‘n Thrills event, celebrating the greatest beer style in the world. Last year, this New Zealand pilsner was hopped with Riwaka and Pacifica. This year’s had the Riwaka swapped for Motueka.

Dry hopping in lagers is not something you see very often at Tooth and Nail, one of the reasons it was such an honour that Matty was down to do this style for our collab, and one of the things they hold most important when they dry hop a lager, a pilsner especially, is that is that it should still taste like a pilsner first.

It’s insanely smooth right from the rip. It’s crisp with a prominent malt bill, some notable breadiness, very minimal honey sweetness, something floral, and a touch of spice. The hop bill is more subtle than that of the first version. There’s a touch of juicy tangerine flesh, red grapefruit pith, and a zesty pop of lime. There’s bitterness trailing long into the finish.

The first version was absolutely magnificent. With Motueka being much more subtle than Riwaka, this one somehow came out even more refined. It still has a distinctively New Zealand hop boldness to it, but it is even more so a pilsner first and foremost. Experiencing this beer again has been an absolute delight!

I also couldn’t think of a better beer to christen this new stunning BAOS branded Teku stein from @zenanglass with!

🍻 Episode #240: Unofficial Beer of London with Gavin Anderson of @andersoncraftales ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

With their Cream Ale outselling all of the biggest beers in the LCBO by around 3-4x in the area, Anderson Craft Ales seem to have the unofficial craft beer of London, ON on their hands. Founder Gavin Anderson jumped back on the pod after three and a half years to chat about what’s been happening since we last spoke, their upcoming 10th anniversary and some of the craziest beers they’ve ever done (including glizzy, roast chicken and pizza beers), all of the Anderson classics that they’re bringing back from the archives for the anniversary, the evolution of their seasonal beers, why they continue to stick with short cans vs tall cans, why their town and neighbourhood is so important to them, the return of the Black IPA, Gavin’s personal IPA renaissance, why they’re cool with selling mixed packs of beers versus forced four or six-packs, and the rise of the Cream Ale. We got into six Anderson bangers - Tmavý Ležák 11° Czech-Style Dark Lager, Italian Pilsner, Cream Ale, Kuty Dutch Lager, IPA WCIPA, and Coconut Black IPA. This was a gem - cheers! 🥥

🍻 Episode #238: Intentional Cohabitation with Tristan Stewart of @temporalbeer, Kurtis Sheldon of @slowhandbeer, and Phil Spurgeon + Kent Courtice of @boomboxbrewing aka @threefoldbeer ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

One of the coolest and most innovative brewery collaborations this decade is Vancouver, BC’s Threefold. A shared taproom comprised of three independent breweries - Temporal Artisan Ales, Slow Hand Beer Co., and Boombox Brewing - Threefold is the perfect manifestation of what combining your powers in the craft beer industry can look like. We had a bit of a podcast party, featuring Tristan Stewart (@tristan__stewart) of Temporal, Kurtis Sheldon (@ramblrrr) of Slow Hand, and Phil Spurgeon (@philspurgeon) + Kent Courtice (@boomboxkent) of Boombox, and we got into each brewery’s origin story and what they all specialize in, how the idea of Threefold came together, the build out of the space and how it fits into the Vancouver’s craft beer landscape, how they split the labour, why Tristan brews for all three brands and how he manages it all, how they’ve built community around the taproom, and where they plan to take it from here. We got into two beers from each brewery - Slow Hand x @nammosestiatorio Mediterranean Pilsner, Boombox Juicy AF NEIPA, Boombox Cyber Samurai Double NEIPA, Temporal Breezeway Czech Farmhouse Ale collaboration with @fourwindsbeachhouseandbrewery, Temporal Stout, Reconstituted Blended Stout, and Slow Hand Pilsner. This was a phenomenal conversation with three impeccable breweries doing something special - enjoy! 🧃
