Sample from my RELIANCE collection, created while I was studying at @__studio_lausie__

Inspired by my last name - which means the shepherd’s son or the little sheep - I imagined, with the help of my grandpa (the main character of this series), a shepherd from another world, a being from a distant universe who comes to Earth to deepen the bonds between people.

Through this series of images, I explore human connection using embroidery as a symbolic language. My work also reflects on the loss of artisanal knowledge passed down through generations - that’s why I primarily use different kinds of threads.

I also put a lot of effort into working with upcycled materials, finding expressive ways to give them new meaning. Reusing what already exists and breathing new life into it feels to me like a symbiosis between past, present, and future.

Paying close attention to textures - especially those that evoke nature - has been such an experience as a process.

I’d like to thank my grandparents, my sister @anatherworld who took the pictures, my dad, and my stepmom for their involvement in this project, which brought us even closer together.🫶🏼🫶🏼 taken in Marseille, France by @baranstick
