One light. Straight overhead. Nothing complicated.

Another portrait set with @lolla.aouad this time using just a single light positioned above her.

I kept most of the series in black and white because I liked how the harder shadows shaped the face and body — and threw one colour frame in just for fun.

Simple lighting, strong shadows, and letting the pose do the rest.

Same setup, sharper key light.
Another portrait session with Lola, keeping the setup almost the same as before.
This time I switched the key light to a beauty dish with a honeycomb grid, which gave me a much tighter, more controlled beam on her face and a more sculpted look overall.
Small change in the modifier, big change in the feel.

Same setup. One small change in the light.

Shot another portrait set with @lolla.aouad , using a simple two-light setup.

The only real change between the looks was removing the diffusion layers from the key light — taking it from a softer source to something harder and more defined.

I always like experiments like this because you can completely change the feel of a portrait without moving the whole setup around.

Same simple setup, completely different mood.

Shot this portrait with @jash__soni using a backlight setup similar to the last one, but this time we added a fog machine and let the mist catch the light behind him.

That little bit of smoke changed the whole frame.

Kept it black and white, dark, and simple — just playing with light, shape and atmosphere.

The main idea here was the half black / half white split in the background — keeping the frame graphic, minimal and a little dramatic.

Shot in black and white, using the light just to catch the edges and let the contrast do most of the work.

One light, one piece of black card, and that’s it.

Shot this black & white portrait with @jash__soni using a single backlight, with a black sheet placed in front to block the centre and leave those side highlights.

Super simple setup, but I really liked the shape and contrast it created.

Simple two-light setup with @lolla.aouad

Shot on the Nikon D850 with two Broncolor Siros 800s — one through a 60×60 softbox as the key, and the second left open through diffusion for the backlight.

Nothing complicated, just clean light and a strong portrait.

Big props to Lola for making this one work.

One light. One reflector

A little black & white portrait experiment with Lola.

Kept this setup intentionally simple — a single light above the subject through a beauty dish, one reflector, a black background, and everything else stripped away.

I love how much you can create when you stop adding more and start paying attention to light, expression and shape.

Shot as a simple creative experiment, but really happy with how these turned out.

Also when you reduce the shutter speed make sure the output of lights don’t over expose the image and iso at the very base 80 or 100 and F 11 to F8 I’m shooting on a sinar so the stacking is a little different compared to a conventional mirrorless camera #BTS #photographybts #productphotography #photographer taken in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by @barbaa_negraa
