Barbe is the project of Italian DJ and vinyl collector Mattia Barbon, founder of the record store Plastique Cuts and DJ platform Plastique Box.

A resident of Ibiza Underground Radio and Bloop London Radio, his selections are shaped by a constant search through vinyl and underground electronic music.

With ears trained in Chicago and New York, Bangkok-based BeetKat brings together dubby basslines, organic textures and catchy vocals.

For the past eight years, he has also been creating music, art and festival experiences in Bangkok as Ikigai Industries.

Bombey is a Latvian DJ and record collector who has been part of the local club and electronic music scene since the early 2000s.

Built on years of experience and a deep record collection, his vinyl-only sets are adventurous, carefully selected and made for both body and mind.

Two friends who unexpectedly met in Latvia four years ago meet behind the decks again.

Raivo and Leojahii will move from acid jazz to house and everything in between. Vinyl only, with warm energy guaranteed. taken in When Coffee Meets Whisky by @barbe____________

Last Saturday at @ariapura_festival, on the beautiful Lago di Santa Croce. 🏔️🌊

We had an amazing time bringing the Plastique Cuts stand to this beautiful festival. Huge thanks to the whole Aria Pura crew for having us and for putting together such a well-organized and successful party — great people, great vibes and top music all day long. ❤️

Big love to all the friends we already knew who stopped by to say hi and dig through some records with us. 📀

A special thank you to the guest DJs who stopped by our stand: @tomoooooki__tamura, for digging through some records and having a chat with us — a great person and an incredible DJ; @francescofarfaofficial, another legendary name, for stopping by despite having very little time; and @dancekowski — it was a real pleasure meeting you and getting to know you!

Good music, good people, good records.
See you next time! taken in Lago di Santa Croce by @barbe____________

Some highlight excerpts from my set at @linea_milano last week.
A vinyl-only journey through dark, acid-driven sounds.

The opening moves slow and deep—hypnotic textures, stripped-back grooves, and a steady build of tension. Acid lines creep in gradually, blending into the mix without overpowering it, creating a subtle but constant pull.

Long, fluid transitions keep the flow locked, letting each record breathe while the energy rises step by step. Raw, analog pressure, evolving into something more driving—without losing that introspective edge.

Pure vinyl. No shortcuts.

Feels more like home every time. Big thanks to all the diggers who stopped by our stand — old friends and new faces, all sharing the same passion.

Special thanks to @_____francescodelgarda for the amazing surprise, it really meant a lot.

And thanks to the organization for having us again — second year in and it keeps getting better.

Welcome back to the second instalment of Pick ‘n’ Mix - A mix series curated by SnS for those with a sweet tooth. For this mix we have an hour of high quality, dark and sexy records from Italian vinyl maestro Barbe. I have known Barbe since the near inception of Sugar ‘n’ Spice where we bonded over our love for deep, dark and heavy selections and have kept in contact ever since. When it came to selecting guests for the mix series, it was a no brainer to bring this man on. Also considering we don’t think we know anyone else who buys as many records as Barbe, it seems he owns every record on the market worth owning!

Barbe is the co-owner of @plastiquecuts alongside good friends @corazz.exp and @angelo.fiorenzo, a record shop based in their home town of Portogruaro, Venice but also shipping to Europe via their Discogs. We would definitely recommend having a browse of their collection, we’d be surprised if you didn’t find something you like. Together they also run a podcast named Plastique Box, a spaceship style container in which they host quality underground selectors, and are approaching 30 episodes. Go and check them out!

We hope you enjoy this mix as much as we did. Head over to our SoundCloud or YouTube for a full listen! by @barbe____________

If you couldn’t be there when it happened, you can still step inside it.
The @plastiquecuts — @barbe____________ B2B with @corazz.exp — full DJ session is now available on the ModeZeroOfficial YouTube channel.

Captured inside @basement_bl, a hidden underground space in Belluno surrounded by the Italian Alps, the set flows for one hour of house music shaped by feel, groove, and an unfiltered dialogue with the dancefloor.

- BARBE - rec 005 - vinyl session

This mix dives deep into the darker edges of industrial and progressive techno, built entirely from vinyl records pulled from BARBE’s personal collection.
Each track is a fragment of tension — heavy, hypnotic, evolving — selected and mixed with no digital aids, no safety nets.

Slow pressure, long transitions, machines breathing through grooves.
These are not just tracks, but gems unearthed from years of digging, pressed into wax and brought back to life on the turntables.

Recorded raw. Meant for dark rooms, concrete walls and closed eyes.
Needle down. No escape.
