There lived a little girl with big dreams.

I identified my gift very early in life. I was born an artist. However, I kept that gift private because although it was a dream, I never truly believed it would come true.

I’ve overcome so much to get here. After all the heartache, sacrifice, and everything I’ve given to the world, I finally decided to give something to myself.

So I made a conscious decision. All of those dreams I had buried, I was going after every single one of them.

With God as my only partner, I watched those dreams become my reality.

And now, this moment.

Me. Miecy. The little black girl from the projects, has been inducted into a museum, where my art will be available for observation for as long as that building stands.

If you know where I came from, you know this moment means everything to me.

Thank you all so much for this momentous opportunity. I am deeply grateful, humbled, and full of love.

Etiquette training at Barbie’s Playhouse is not just about the perfect way to have tea. It’s a lifestyle that has very little to do with tea.

Here, our girls learn accountability, manners, morals, respect for themselves and others, when and where to speak, when to listen, when to stand up, and when to stand down. Most importantly, they learn kindness.

Sure, they are learning to be poised, polished and proper. Of course, they dine and have tea using the finest china. And yes, they are having tea with their pinkies up at a five diamond venue.

But the tea is simply the gateway. It creates an environment where our girls can learn the life skills, confidence, character and self respect they need to navigate the world around them.

The results are all over @barbies_playhouse.

On September 5, 2015, Amaya Paige walked in the #BarbieWantsToBeMeFashionShow as a Medical Doctor. She maintained the dream throughout each and every fashion shows career portion; even when she was the host.
I can go on and on about Amaya, but I’ll leave it here.

Today, Amaya is in Africa assisting and studying to be a Medical Doctor! She is almost there!!!
