https://rcbizjournal.com/2026/10/13/rockland-county-ranks-number-one-for-residential-foreclosure-risk-for-counties-outside-nyc/

This is what happens when taxes are out of control in a county because the crooked politicians turn a blind eye to the situation with one particular group that avoids taxes, does not marry under NYS law, scams medicaid and welfare, and illegally uses tax exempt status. During the COVID pandemic, they would refuse to wear masks and keep the 6 ft. distance. They woukd bring their measles-infected children into the general public sector with aplomb. In addition, they become the worst slumlords with numerous building code violations and life threatening conditions (i.e. a 3 bedroom rental home with 18 bedrooms), which again, goes ignored by housing authority. They prey on immigrants who are unaware of building codes, tenants rights, and who fear calling the town for fear of eviction or worse! Seeing and hearing all this makes me sick. An example of this malfeasance is the Evergreen Nursing Home Fire: the owners walked away with nothing more than a $600 fine after claiming the lives of one senior resident and a firefighter who left behind a wife and 2 children. Another is the loss of 5 lives (2 children included) in one of these homes sue to overloaded electrical outlets viloations and overcrowding. These story was buried and more important was a brush fire that claimed a shed and 60 acres of grass! Their daycare achools are rife with violations, including lack of smoke detection and fire exits and properly installed fire doors. They are notorious for buying high ticket items (lawn tractors, air conditioning, etc.), practically destroying them from use and attempting to return them (which most retailers are pushing back and denying returns). #thetakeovercontinues #instachickens #instainsights #rocklandcountyny #payolapolticians taken in Rockland County by @barbrafan1963

The fashion and entertainment world lost another icon.

@bobmackie was born Robert Gordon Mackie (b. March 24, 1939 –d. September 14, 2026).

He is referred to alternatively as the "Sultan of Sequins", the "Rajah of Rhinestones" or the "Guru of Glitter" for his sparkling and imaginative designs. Mackie said, "A woman who wears my clothes is not afraid to be noticed".

Bob Mackie won nine Primetime Emmy Awards, one Tony Award, and earned three Academy Award nominations during his legendary career.

This came today from @walmart :

@dollyparton butterfly-shaped deviled egg platter.

I'm going to hang it up on the kitchen wall as a reminder of her spirit, enthusiasm, courage, humanitarianism, and talent.

@dollyparton wrote #Jolene in 1973 while strumming the tune on her acrylic nails after the teller at the bank was flirting with her husband Carl Dean. [This story has been told by her in many interviews]The girl's name was changed to Jolene to protect her privacy. It's amazing how she did not mention the girl's name based on what she was trying to do. This is who Dolly Parton was.

●There 25 performers who sang Jolene:
☆Sisters of Mercy, 1983
☆Strawberry Switchblade, 1985
☆Las Chicas del Can, titled "Youlin" and sung by Miriam Cruz, 1985
☆Darcy Clay, 1997
☆ Susie Miller, 1992 (Hebrew version).
☆Spirella Girls released a parody version in 1994 named "Brolin, Brolin".
☆ Queenadreena, 2000
☆Rhonda Vincent, 2000
☆Sherrié Austin, 2000
☆Kelly Chen, 2001 (Cantonese Lyrics)
☆Mindy Smith, 2003
☆Miley Cyrus 2010–2019
☆Alter Irving Band, 2010
☆Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, 2019
☆Nicole Zuraitis and the Dan Pugach Nonet, 2020
☆The Petersens, 2022
☆Chiquis and Becky G, 2020 (Spanish)
☆Lil Nas X, 2022
☆Måneskin, 2024
☆Bad Wolves, 2026, were set to record a cover with Parton herself contributing vocals; however, she died on August 25, 2026 before being able to record her parts.
☆Olivia Newton-John, 1976
☆The White Stripes, 2004
☆Pentatonix, 2016
☆Beyoncé, 2024

Well after all the fuss on the internet about @dollyparton #cuppacuppacake recipe, I did the research and found out the way to make it.

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Take 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and 8 Oz. of fruit cocktail (I used the kind in its own fruit juice, but you can use the one in syrup if you like it real sweet).

Mix it all together and pour into a greased baking pan.

Bake uncovered 40 minutes "until bubbly".

Cool and serve. Great with ice cream.

NOW YOU HAVE THE COMPLETE RECIPE.

#rip @dollyparton

We are all in mourning and grieving and to help us through this we may feel it necessary to buy Dolly merchandise, music, films, and memorabilia.

Fans beware of online scams and bootlegs (yes... already).

Only donate for charity on her website dollyparton.com or @dollyslifeofmanycolors .

There are so many oddball sites hawking figurines, coins, mini guitars, etc. They are all phones using A.I. to make these beautiful ads. And most of them do not accept @PayPal. They only want your credit card info.

There are so many who adore her, then there's the other side using her name to make money.

Best bet: go to an actual brick and mortar store (@spencers , @hottopic @gap, etc.) or only a reputable online retailer (@oldnavy , @target, @danbury_mint , @bradfordexchange , @amazon [sold and shipped by only]).

Authentic autographs and personal items (if and when available) the ilk should be acquired through reputable auction houses @juliens_auctions
@christiesinc
@sothebys

Stay away from ebay and Etsy as they are notorious for copies and fakes.
