Some songs make you stop and imagine the life you’re living 40 years from now. 💛🎶

Throwing it back to Barbra Lica performing “In 40 Years” at KMJF last year — a beautiful reminder that love, music and life can take you places you never expected.

Who knows where you’ll be, who you’ll be with, or what your story will look like. ✨

One thing we do know: you don’t want to miss Barbra live this year.

I’m so excited to be back on the road next month for a little weekend run that I wrote a little jingle for each gig. First up, April 10th in Saskatoon, SK at @thebassmentclub . I’ve played here a few times and it’s always a party so if you’re nearby, join me, @markgodfrey , @billysticks , and @tomfleming (the guitarist in this video). If enough of you learn this jingle, we might even sing it together! by @barbralica

Big month for music 🎶

With the Women in Music Canada Summit (March 2–4, Toronto) and the JUNO Awards (March 26–29, Hamilton) around the corner, we’re spotlighting one of our Level UP! 2025 music sector partners: Toronto Chamber-Pop Orchestra.

Founded by JUNO-nominated Barbra Lica and trombonist-arranger Anders Azzopardi, TCPO is a bold return to live, expansive sound—bringing together some of Toronto’s most virtuosic musicians to reimagine Barbra’s original repertoire.

Their Level UP! pilot project centered caregiver-artists during the recording of Songs for Orchestra—providing childcare funding, on-site licensed care, flexible scheduling, and remote collaboration tools so musicians could fully show up as artists and parents.
