BAR DOWN BAKERY IS OFFICIALLY AN AWARD WINNING BAKERY!!! 🥳 my late grandfather’s favourite quote was “two paths diverged in a wood and I, I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.” while he never got to see the bakery, I like to think he’d be proud. “you must want what you want and where you wants may lead to” is a piece of advice my dad has given me at many chapters of life. my goodness did I ever want this bakery and I am so grateful for what it has led to. “no matter what, you will always have us” is a reassurance my mother used to tell me in the early years of the business. yup, she kept that promise, answering all 1000 “I don’t know what to do!!” phone calls from me a day. “proud of you Kay” while a man of not many words, those words of recognition from my brother always meant a lot. we started this together, but when it became clear this was my life’s passion, he stepped down so he could be my biggest cheerleader. there are these moments in life that seem relatively small in the moment, but you later look back and see how big they are. little pieces to your life’s puzzle. i never would have imaged the bakery would be where it is today, let alone recognized for a business excellence award. i never quite imagined what it would come to mean to so many people. i never could have guessed how many amazing people i would get to work alongside everyday. the bakery has been a place for first dates, seen some of our guests become parents, witnessed others embrace new chapters of life and so much more. for the few minutes a day you choose to share with us, we thank you for them. i want to make my family proud, i want to make our team proud and i want to make you, our guests, proud. as i said in my speech, every single day we strive for better and i promise to keep doing this. to our amazing team, my family, my boyfriend and business partner John and you, our amazing guests, thank you for taking the path less travelled with me. you have made all the difference. #gourmetbakery #fortlangley #langleybc #croissantlover #coffeeenthusiast by @bardownbakery
