I’m Praggapti (she/they), a queer-identifying psychologist with 8 years of clinical experience, including 3 years of research experience.

I support clients dealing with:
• Anxiety, panic, depression
• Suicidal ideation and crisis support
• Relationship and identity concerns
• Low self-worth, low confidence and self-esteem, loneliness
• Trauma (including childhood trauma, emotional abuse, DV, sexual harassment)
• Queer identity and LGBTQIA+ mental health

My approach is eclectic, focusing on self-compassion, the Psychoanalytic framework, REBT, and humanistic approaches.

This is my first conference presentation since I started my Ph.D. last month.
I presented my paper at 1st International Psycho-Gynaecology Conference 2026 organised by @iacbt at IIC, Delhi

My paper focused on effectiveness of CBT on post-natal depression.

Looking forward to do more work!

Literature review is difficult.
The academic language is difficult.

But once you understand one paper, things start looking better for us.
Nobody told me about this part of literature review, that how difficult it is to understand the papers!

A lot of time I just feel, “are kehna kya chahte ho”

If you are also feeling the same, you are not alone.

Freud’s paper is now my mountain, I am gonna climb it.
You can choose your own mountain.

Take it one paper at a time.

If that is difficult, one paragraph at a time.

21 days to Ph.D. in Psychology

I have started teaching Cognitive Psychology to BA 5th Sem.
And I am also doing my research work in the hours I am not teaching or doing admin work.

I have observed the words “faculty” and “student” being used for me on a daily basis!

At one moment, I am a faculty.
Next, I am a student with deadlines.

Here’s how I have learnt the difference between the two roles so far.

Ph.D. is an exciting journey!

This is only Day 21 of my Ph.D. journey, and there’s still so much to learn.

21 days to Ph.D. in Psychology.
I am confused with the roles I have now.
At one point I am a student.
At one point, I am a teacher (faculty) taking classes.
And then I am a therapist.

I have been doing it all since the last 21 days.

The part where I am the student, is the most difficult part.
Because even though I find research interesting, it’s so damn difficult.

I feel like an imposter now.

Trying to deal with my imposter syndrome along with trying to keep myself sane!

Join me in my journey!!!

Hopefully will finish this Ph.D. before it finishes me!

Therapist competency is not equal to the number of followers in social media.
I know many good psychologists who are not active on social media, yet they work with empathy, kindness and ethics.

This is message is both for therapists and clients.

Don’t judge a psychologist by the number of followers they have on socials.
