Everyone is on their own journey.It’s so easy to measure progress by medals, podiums, or comparing one path to another, but growth doesn’t always happen on the same timeline.Grady didn’t leave Nationals with a medal, but he did something that deserves to be celebrated—he stepped onto one of the toughest stages in youth jiu jitsu, fought with heart, and earned a win. That is a huge accomplishment.I’m incredibly proud of the resilience, courage, and determination he showed. Had a great time coaching the kids team at @ibjjf American National yesterday. Very good time for the PNW kids jiu jitsu with great results and even greater experience for them . The White Lion’s journey with Roll A Lot didn’t start with a spotlight — it started quietly, in a crowded auditorium. And what most people don’t know… it began with a loss.March 16, 2024. A rainy spring day.A long drive to Yakima for a superfight at a brand-new local tournament. We stayed at a run-down Red Lion where someone was literally stealing a TV out of a first-floor room. (Really.)Tournament day felt different from the start. The music was loud. The matches were electric. The energy in the room was something special.Then it was Nolan’s turn.He fought hard in his superfight and lost a close match on submission attempts.He didn’t leave with the belt that day — but he left with something better. A relationship. A connection.
