I didn’t really get a childhood. I am the oldest of 3, and in our highly dysfunctional and emotionally abusive household, I was parentified at a young age. The most surprising part of motherhood for me is how much fun I genuinely have with my son. I enjoy playing and pretending, building forts and getting muddy outside along with him. I had no idea how much becoming a mother would heal my inner child- sometimes in subtle ways, and sometimes in ways that briefly bring my me to my knees. I deserved all of this love, too, when I was little. I can honor my own inner child by allowing myself to be undignified and enjoy life alongside my son. #dayinmylifevlog #vlog #trending #fyp #healing by @barefootreparenting

This week, we’re wrapping up learning about the letter F.
We’re camping, and our real life learning included watching frogs in a creek, watching a lifecycle unfold in real time.
It was practicing how to build a fire together.
It was fresh air and space to play without any hurry to move onto the next thing.
